Known as the Bolton Strid, the waters here as so treacherous that should someone slip into the river, it's unlikely they'll ever reemerge. Indeed, according to local legend, 100 percent of the people who have fallen into the Bolton Strid have died — and many of their bodies have never been recovered.
One diver wrote: "I have dived the Strid on a couple of occasions back in the 70s. "The deepest point I recorded was about 9 metres which is downstream from the waterfall area. "It is as wide under the waterline as it is deep. The diver said all SCUBA diving at the Strid had been banned in the late 1970s.
The Zambezi is considered by many to be the world's most dangerous river, which is partly what drew me. It's almost 3,000km long, peppered with unexploded mines, killer rapids and deadly animals. Before the expedition, I joined a wildlife survey that counted 188,000 crocodiles and 90,000 hippos along its length.

His net worth right now reached a good $45 million, but with his new album around the corner, you can bet it will sky rocket. Last update: January 2021.
Samuel Smith's Brewery operates in the region of 200 pubs; most are small pubs situated in the former mill, mine and steel areas of the north of England.
But it seems Samuel Smith's owner Humphrey Smith has found a cunning way to get around his own rules – by popping into a Wetherspoon's to check his phone.
There are Sam Smith's pubs across London – more than 40, by our count – but here's out pick of the 15 best in zones one and two of the capital.
