The most common way to
check your
voicemail on your
Android device is by calling your mailbox.
Call your number from your phone, or use the quick dial to access your voicemail:
- Open the Phone app.
- At the bottom, tap the dial pad icon.
- Touch and hold 1.
- If prompted, enter your voicemail password.
Android Voicemail Set Up
- Tap the three dots (upper right corner of screen)
- Tap “settings”
- Tap “voicemail”
- Tap “advanced settings”
- Tap "setup.
- Tap “voicemail number.
- Enter your 10-digit phone number and Tap “OK.
- Tap the home key to return to the main menu.
Press *611 then press SEND (airtime is free). Alternatively, call (800) 922-0204 (toll free) from any phone to reach the automated customer service menu. When prompted to state the reason for your call, say 'Reset voicemail password'. If prompted, enter the requested info for security verification.
If the voicemail icon is still there, try performing the following steps:
- Go to Settings > Applications > Phone.
- Tap on Clear Data and Clear Cache (if possible)
- Power your Galaxy S8 Off, wait 10 seconds then turn it back on and the notification should hopefully be gone!
Delete Basic Visual Voicemail Messages - Samsung
- From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps then tap Voicemail .
- From the Visual Voicemail inbox, tap the preferred message. To delete multiple messages, continue to tap on additional messages.
- Tap the Trashcan icon. (upper-right) then tap Delete to confirm.
How to clear “New Voicemail” notification on LG smartphone
- Go to Settings > Apps > Phone (All tab) >
- Select Clear Data.
- Power your device Off, wait 10 seconds then turn it back on and it should be gone!
On some Android phones, you may be able to disable voicemail by opening your phone's settings, tapping Call or Phone, tapping Voicemail, tapping your voicemail number, and deleting it.
Check from Your Phone (If No Data or Wi-Fi Connection is Available)
- From a Home screen, tap Phone (lower-left). If not available, navigate Apps > Phone .
- From the Dialer tab, touch and hold 1 (one). If presented Choose Voicemail, select Voicemail.
- If prompted, enter the Voicemail password then press the # key.
How to Disable Voicemail iPhone Feature
- Start by tapping on the phone icon found at your iPhone's home screen.
- Go to the setting section on your iPhone.
- Now, you can go to the keypad on your phone and then type the number #404 and then call so that you are able to turn off voicemail on iPhone.
Your messenger app will display a "1" indicating that there is a new message, and even after you open the app to look, the "1" just never disappears. It is annoying because you keep looking at it thinking you have missed something.
These are essentially 'dogfood' builds of the app. Dogfood builds mean they are used for internal testing by Google employees as a means of Quality Assurance testing before a final release by using the build in their everyday lives.
Method 1Clear the Data
- Go to "Settings." Navigate through your home screen and find the icon that looks like a gear.
- Select "Application Manager."
- Tap “All.”
- Select “Messages.”
- Tap on “Clear data.”
On your device, navigate to Settings -> Application Manager -> All -> BadgeProvider. Within these preferences, select Force Stop, then Disable. Restart your device and you'll notice that any pre-existing app icon badges are now gone, and no new ones will show up.
Remove Red Number From App Icons on iPhone
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- On the Settings screen, tap on Notifications.

Make sure App Notifications is turned on. The exact path differs across different manufacturers but it will be something like Settings > Sound and notifications > App Notifications. . ry clearing cache data from the Facebook app and Messenger app. If notifications still don't appear, try reinstalling the app.
When you tap Manage Accounts and then tap the green slider to deselect your email account, you have to then hit done. Then hit sign in and re-enable the account. That'll clear the false notifications for a while but they'll inevitably come back. I think gmail has to update their app.
- From a Home screen, navigate: Phone icon > Menu icon. > Settings. If not available, swipe up to display all apps then tap the Phone icon.
- Tap Voicemail. If unavailable, tap Call Settings > Voicemail.
- Tap the Visual Voicemail switch to turn on or off . If unavailable, tap Notifications.
For Android, press Settings, About Phone, and then Status. Your phone number will be listed here. Voicemail can sometimes be locked for privacy reasons but the code should be something that you created. Once you have verified your identity, you should be allowed to access to your voicemail.
Change your notifications
- On your Android device, open the Voice app .
- At the top left, tap Menu. Settings.
- Under Messages, Calls, or Voicemail, tap the notification setting: Message notifications.
- Tap On or Off.
- If On, set the following options: Importance—Tap, and then select the level of importance for notifications.
Here's a quick way to remove the voicemail notification icon on your Android phone.
- Head to Settings by pulling down the notification shade and tapping the gear icon.
- Tap on Apps.
- Tap on Phone.
- Tap on Data Usage.
- Tap Clear Data, then tap Clear Cache.
- Reboot the phone.
- Find "Voice call" Press Phone. Press the menu icon. Press Settings. Press More settings. Press Call forwarding. Press Voice call.
- Cancel all diverts. Press the required divert type. Press DISABLE.
- Return to the home screen. Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
Here's what you need to do:
- Firstly, access the “Show notifications” setting in your voicemail application by going to your Galaxy S9 Settings.
- Here, find and open the Application Manager.
- Navigate to all apps.
- Scroll and find the Voicemail app.
- Tap to open it and then deselect the Show notifications option.
