Click your email address on the right-hand side and go to Settings. On the right-hand side click Mail and Auto-reply.
How to stop spam emails
- Try to avoid opening spam emails and clicking on links in spam messages.
- Don't buy anything from a spammer.
- Don't be tempted to reply.
- Don't threaten the spammer.
- Avoid 'unsubscribe' options.
- Use a disposable email address.
- Be wary about giving out your main email address.
You can view your email from the menu bar at www.bt.com by selecting either: The email link and logging in with your email address (ending @btinternet.com, @btopenworld.com or @talk21.com) and password.
Block an email address
- On your computer, go to Gmail.
- Open the message.
- In the top right, click More .
- Click Block [sender].
Do not click on any links in a suspicious email.
- From here you can check your account details are up to date and view your bill.
- Alternatively use our automated phone service to check your balance - 0800 443 311.
- Forward the email to our dedicated mailbox - phishing@bt.com - and delete the email.
Re: Stopping mail going to SpamLog onto your email via a web browser not the ipad app, and go to settings then mail and scroll down to safe senders and add it to the box. Click save.
Re: Recover permanently deleted emailsIf you are a BTMail account holder, there is no way to recover them once they are deleted. If you are not sure which system you are on, log onto your email account and look at the BT logo.
In case you are not aware, one of the reason for the change of the email web page is because BTYahoo users are being migrated away from Yahoo onto the new BTMail system. If you have a look at this long thread you will see that the "New" BT email webpage has been on the go since Dec 2018.
Reactivate your Email Address
- Click on the gear icon to the right of the email address you wish to reactivate.
- Click Reactivate Mailbox.
- Click Reactivate.
- Your email address is now reactivated!
Here's how to unblock an accidentally blocked sender in Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail:
- Get to Junk E-Mail Options. In Windows Live Mail, choose Actions→Junk E-Mail→Safety Options.
- Click the Blocked Senders tab.
- Select the user you want to unblock.
- Click the Remove button.
- Click OK.
How to Tell If Your Email Address Is Blocked
- Send an email to the person, group server or site that you believe has blocked you.
- Wait to see if the email bounces.
- Attempt to send an email to another address, just to be sure that your email account is functioning and allowing you to send messages.
Go through the list and see if you can find the name of the person who you think has blocked you. If their name appears, then they've not blocked you. However, if the name that previously showed to the list doesn't show anymore, then you're blocked.
If an email account is in the blocked list, then the emails from the particular sender will not be delivered into the receiver's inbox, so that a bounce back will be generated. Sometimes, emails will not be delivered due to malicious contest.
When you block someone's emails on Gmail, you'll no longer see their emails in your inbox. Instead, their emails will automatically be routed to your spam folder. If there's someone you don't wish to receive emails from, you can easily block the specific sender on Gmail on either desktop or mobile.
Under “Change account access for less secure apps”, click the link to the “Less secure apps” to open your Gmail account access settings. On this page, simply select “Turn on” from the two options. Your account will automatically be updated, so you can simply close the window afterwards.
A: The reason your computer knows to open a browser when you click a link in an email is because your computer associates various links and file types with the appropriate corresponding application. The quickest way to fix this is to make sure Internet Explorer is set as your default browser.
Manage your junk email> Mail. Under Options, select Block or allow. Select this option if you want to turn off junk email filtering.
