If your microphone is muted:
- Open Control Panel.
- Open Sound.
- Click the Recording tab.
- Double-click on the microphone you are using in the list of recording devices:
- Click the Levels tab.
- Click the microphone icon, shown muted below: The icon will change to show as unmuted:
- Click Apply, then OK.
When presenting or joining a Google Meet session, the microphone on the laptop is always muted. As it stands, if you are facing the issue, then it is highly likely that your Windows is preventing your browser app from accessing the microphone.
To mute the microphone, one of the ways is to go to Settings > System > Sound. Then, under the Input section, click the Device properties option and check the Disable option. All of this is a lengthy process but can be cut short with a few hotkeys.
The participant controls appear at the bottom of your screen, except for Leave meeting which appears at the top-right corner. Join Audio or Unmute / Mute : Mute or unmute your microphone.

Open the system menu and make sure that the sound is not muted or turned down. Some laptops have mute switches or keys on their keyboards — try pressing that key to see if it unmutes the sound. Click on Sound to open the panel. Under Volume Levels, check that your application is not muted.

- Go to Settings (press Windows + I key together) > Privacy.
- On the left hand pane scroll down and look for. Microphone.
- Toggle Allow apps to access Microphone. to ON.

- Restart the game bar.
The headset's mute button is located on the back end of the mic attachment (on the bottom of the left earcup). When the mic is muted, the light at the end of the mic will switch off. The headset's power light/LED is located just above the power button, on the back of the left earcup.

Here's how: Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone . In Allow access to the microphone on this device, select Change and make sure Microphone access for this device is turned on.
If you cannot hear other participants in a Zoom meeting, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue. Ensure your speaker is turned on. Even if the speaker is turned on in Zoom, your device's volume might be set to mute or vibrate only. Try using earphones.
Open your Zoom app on your desktop. Click on Settings. On the Audio tab, click the checkbox 'Always mute the microphone when joining a meeting' at the bottom of the screen. On the Video tab, click the checkbox ' Always turn off video when joining meeting' at the bottom of the page under the Meetings heading.
Fixing audio problems on Zoom. Check you're not muted: When you join a Zoom meeting you'll normally have to click to activate the microphone, because you're muted. Look for the microphone icon in the bottom left hand corner, if it's crossed out, click it to unmute your microphone.
Zoom: Mute All Participants
- Select Participants in the toolbar.
- Click Mute All at the bottom of the Participants window.
- (Optional): Check Allow participants to unmute themselves if you wish to allow participants to unmute at any time during the meeting.
- Click Mute All to mute all current and future participants.
You can access your audio settings and test your audio when you are already in a meeting. In the meeting controls, click the arrow next to Mute/Unmute. Click Audio Options.; this will open your audio settings.
Disable Zoom Audio Processing
- Select your device for both the Microphone and Speaker selections.
- Deselect “Automatically adjust microphone”
- Select “Allow option for using original sound from microphone in meeting” (if this option is unavailable, continue below to Advanced Settings for additional instructions)
In your Zoom meeting, click on the "Mute" icon in the bottom left corner. Note: A hotkey can also be used to enable/disable microphone. Press ALT + A to enable/disable the microphone.
Dropouts in wireless mics can be caused by many things, including antenna placement, bad antenna cable, antenna distribution problems, frequency selection, interference, etc. Troubleshooting dropouts will be a process of trial and error.
Your audio can cut out for various reasons, it could be that your headphone jack is aging, but it could also just be that some other wireless device (eg anything that broadcasts Bluetooth, or an FM radio) could somehow be running interference between your console and your controller.
