To manually update the ITV Hub app on Samsung Smart TVs 2014 and later:
- Switch on the TV.
- Navigate to the Samsung Smart Hub.
- Navigate to the Apps area.
- Press and hold the select button on the ITV Hub app and a sub-menu will appear.
- Select “Update apps” and if an update for ITV Hub is available, select it.
Open the app on your connected TV device and, if it doesn't appear straight away, press the down key to access the 'My ITV' section. Click on 'Sign in' and you'll be presented with a 6-digit code. Head to itv.com/hub/pair on a PC/Mac or smartphone.
Lack of storage on your device. Your device may not have enough room to complete the download, in which case you will need to free up some space on your device. Your device may be too slow to handle the download process.
ITV Player and All4 are apps that are only available with YouView enabled. YouView is only available on Android based TVs, which unfortunately your model is not. You should have an app called 'Opera Store' which is where some more apps can be installed and run from.
ITV say episodes will be available to watch on catch-up “within 1-2 hours of them finishing on telly, but occasionally some (eg live programmes) may take a bit longer.” However, ITV Hub has told RadioTimes.com that as it's a priority show, the wait for Love Island viewers will be as short as possible.
Clearing the cache just means emptying it, so the next time you display a webpage, everything must be downloaded anew. It's not always a caching problem, but because it happens often enough, “clear your browser cache” is one of the first diagnostic steps you'll hear from people like me.
Watching TV: iPlayer, ITV Player, Netflix and Amazon

Set Your Samsung Smart TV to Update Automatically
- Make sure your TV is connected to the internet.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Support.
- Select Software Update.
- Select Auto Update.
Samsung smart TVs add ITV Player. Samsung's Smart TV platform now hosts BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, 4oD and, exclusive to Samsung, ITV Player. BBC iPlayer, 4oD, ITV Player and Demand 5 are all available on all 2011, 2012 and 2013 Samsung Smart TV models.
How to Update Apps on Samsung Smart TV
- Press the Smart Hub/Home button your Samsung TV remote.
- In the Smart Hub Home Menu, select Apps.
- Select My Apps.
- Select Options and make sure Auto Update is set to On.
- If you're using the manual option, when you select an individual app you'll be notified if an update is available.
Update pre-installed apps on your Android TV
- On the supplied remote control, press HOME.
- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options: Select Apps → Google Play Store → Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time. Select Google Play Store → Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.
Launch the STV Player App and go to the Watch Live stream, the AirPlay icon should be shown at the top of the playback bar. Tap this icon to activate AirPlay and select the device you want to use. Player+ users should also get the option when watching catch up and downloaded content.

ITV said the Hub, originally announced in September but now live, was intended to replace ITV Player and the ITV website. The Hub has launched for mobile, PC and connected TVs. According to ITV it provides "instant" access to live programmes on all devices.
Because of this, we aim to make the programmes available about an hour after the episode has finished, but we'll let you know if we think it will take any longer. Remember you can always check out the latest news, gossip and exclusives on the show websites while you wait!
Sometimes, it's the next day for primetime series on the big four networks, downloaded around 5–6 AM (Central time), but often it's two days later. At other times, it can be as long as three or four days. Sometimes, they will download only the HD version or the normal version, and later provide the other.
It may take a while to make a programme available on demand after broadcast if the programme was live or recorded close to live. Rather than wait, note that you can rewind the live TV channel by up to 2 hours.
ITV Hub. The ITV Hub (formerly ITV Player) is an online video on demand service accessible through the main ITV website itv.com. The service offers a variety of programmes from homegrown programming to imports across ITV, ITV2, ITVBe, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV.
