E-Collars. The Elizabethan collar, commonly called an E-collar, are often the most effective way to prevent licking to some areas. The collar fits around the neck and looks like a lampshade that surrounds the cat's head. This can prevent licking and pulling your cat's fur out.

Cats typically spend up to 50% of their waking hours grooming, but excessive amounts of licking, biting, chewing, or scratching may mean that your cat's self-grooming habits have become problematic. If your cat is licking too much, they can lose fur in strips along their back, belly, or inner legs.
Don't lick your cat. Cats lick themselves, and occasionally allow another cat to lick them. If you try it, you'll only freak the cat out further. Your saliva doesn't smell right, your tongue is completely wrong, and you'll mess up his fur.
What You Can Do
- Remove targeted items . The easiest solution may be simply to hide the clothes, plants, or other items your cat loves to chew on.
- Give your cat something else to chew.
- Play with your cat.
- Make appealing items unappealing.
- Get rid of dangerous plants.
- Talk to an animal behaviorist.
Other signs of a stressed cat
- Often crouching and looking tense indoors.
- Ears rotate backwards frequently or flatten downwards.
- Wide open eyes with very dilated pupils which makes their eyes look black.
- Staring at the floor with a fixed, glazed expression.
To stop your cat from licking you, distract herBefore she starts washing your arm raw, redirect her attention with a toy. If your cat likes catnip, slip a catnip-filled kicker toy in front of her when she's about to lick you. If she's not a catnip fan, try a treat-dispensing toy instead.
A cat's behavior can change dramatically when they are introduced to catnip. Catnip also seems to make most cats more playful and more interested in toys. After a certain amount of time, cats under the influence of catnip seem to calm down and get sluggish and sleepy. Catnip has been found to be relatively harmless.

Control your surroundings

Signs that your cat is in pain include:

They are also intuitive in that they often know when they are about to die. I have heard stories where cats hide or “run away” from home to find a place to pass away peacefully. Therefore, cats are attuned to their bodies and their environment to the point where they can detect signs associated with death.
Signs Your Cat Is Dying

Although cat bad breath seems relatively harmless, it is usually a symptom of more severe feline dental disease occurring in your cat's mouth. The most common dental diseases affecting cats include periodontal disease, tooth resorption and stomatitis.
