We recommend warm water with some washing up liquid and a non-abrasive cloth. Wring the cloth out so that it's not dripping wet and wipe over. Follow up by drying off with a soft cloth such as a microfiber cloth. This stops general wear and tear and everyday marks from building up and making the surface look grubby.
While many faux leathers are attractive because they are easy to clean with harsh chemicals, the laminated surface often cracks after only a few years of use. Genuine leather, on the other hand, has been known to last for 10 to 20 years or longer.
Clean the residue from your faux leather jacket using a soft clean cloth, then gently apply a baby or coconut oil to moisturize its dried surface. But do not use excessive oil since faux is a non-porous material and doesn't soak the oil.

Modern faux leather materials, ranging from bi-cast leather byproducts to polyurethane products, have better durability and look much like the real thing. Repair is possible with the help of a leather repair formula. Abrade the torn area only if the faux leather surface is frayed or cracking.

Real leather is going to have great durability over time because it won't crack or peel. Instead of wearing out, real leather will develop a patina on its natural surface. Faux leather, or PU leather, is not going to be as durable as real leather, but it will be more durable compared to bonded leather.
With names like Petrolatum, Petroleum, Petroleum Jelly, Petroleum Distillates and Petrol, it's no wonder things get a little confusing. These types of Petroleum Distillates would be harmful for leather, drying the leather out and robbing it of it's natural oils.
It is not prone to crack or peel like leather. Low Maintenance – Faux leather materials can usually be wiped clean with a rag and warm water. Unlike genuine leather, it does not retain moisture, so faux leather items will not become warped or cracked.

Mix one quart of warm water, one tablespoon of soap, and a couple drops of vinegar. Dip a cloth into the mixture, wringing it out so it's damp and not wet. Wipe down the entire surface of the leather furniture piece. Allow the leather to air-dry once finished.
Try to check and feel the texture of the leather before making a purchase as little imperfections like creases or scratches are considered to be a good signal while testing the authenticity of genuine leather. Genuine leather does not smell like plastic or give an odour of chemicals which is obvious with faux leather.
