If an Android user has blocked you, Lavelle says, “your text messages will go through as usual; they just won't be delivered to the Android user.” It's the same as an iPhone, but without the “delivered” notification (or lack thereof) to clue you in.
iMessage is a single setting that can be toggled on or off. But if you'd like to send Text Messages to a single contact, you have a couple options. To do this, visit Settings > Messages, then toggle off iMessage. Toggle it back on when you're ready to re-enable iMessage.
On an Android phone, you can disable all potential spam messages from the Messages app. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right of the app and select Settings > Spam protection and turn on the Enable spam protection switch. Your phone will now alert you if an incoming message is suspected of being spam.
To turn on this filtering:
- Start the Settings app.
- Tap "Messages."
- Turn on Filter Unknown Senders by swiping the button to the right.
Text messages (SMS, MMS, iMessage) from blocked contacts (numbers or email addresses) do not appear anywhere on your device. Unblocking the contact does NOT show any messages sent to you when it was blocked.
Can blocked numbers text you? If you block a user and they try to send you a text, you won't receive their message. When they text you, they'll send it along without being notified of anything unusual.
If you get a notification like "Message Not Delivered" or you get no notification at all, that's a sign of a potential block. Next, you could try calling the person. If the call goes right to voicemail or rings once (or a half ring) then goes to voicemail, that's further evidence you may have been blocked.
When you block a phone number or contact, they can still leave a voicemail, but you won't get a notification. Messages that are sent or received won't be delivered. Also, the contact won't get a notification that the call or message was blocked. When you block an email address from Mail, it goes to the trash folder.
When you block someone, that person won't be able to find your profile, posts or story on Instagram. People aren't notified when you block them.
You can directly restore blocked text messages on Android to inbox.
- From main-screen, click on Call & Text Blocking > History > Text blocked history.
- Now click and hold blocked messages you wish to restore.
- After that, click on Menu icon on top and at last, click on Restore to Inbox.
If the person you want to block isn't in your contacts, pull up his information card by tapping the "Info" button from your recent calls list or by tapping "Contact" and then "Info" from the list of text messages you've received from him. Once you're there, tap "Block This Caller" and then confirm.
green iPhone messages. Short answer: Blue ones have been sent or received using Apple's iMessage technology, while green ones are "traditional" text messages exchanged via Short Messaging Service, or SMS.
How do I send text message if I'm blocked? You cannot. That person has shut off all communication from your number through their phone. Will using *67 before calling someone block my number permanently?
Green bubbles indicate that the message was sent using SMS instead of iMessage (blue bubble). You can disable the SMS fallback by going to Settings > Messages and turn off the "Send as SMS" option.
Delivered means that the recipient's app has downloaded the message at least once, and can display it. Seen means that the app thinks the message has been seen. Does “delivered” mean that the other person having an Android phone got the message? Can a text be changed before it reaches the recipient?
Any blocks you make on one device will sync to all other devices sharing the same ID for iMessage, and the person would be blocked from all of them. iMessages are blocked on all devices. This is not the case for SMS, if you block a number on your phone, their SMS messages will still be synced to your Mac.

Make sure you're viewing the Accounts tab, and select the iMessage account you have added to your Mac, then click on "Blocked" to the right of the account name.
On Android Lollipop, go to the Phone app and select Call Settings > Call Rejection (ouch) > Auto Reject List. Type in the number or search for it, select it, and you're done. For Marshmallow or Nougat, open Dialer, go to your recent calls list, find the number you want to block and select Block/Report Spam.
