Nancy Drew Diaries Book Series (9 Books)
Nancy Drew books are written at an 8 to 12 year old's reading level; however, that does NOT mean that the situations in the books are appropriate for every 8 to 12 year old. Reading level does not dictate whether or not a book is right for your child.
For readers who have been looking for Nancy Drew books for sale lately, once they find them, they might wonder: Do you have to read Nancy Drew books in order? The answer is: Not necessarily. Some of the books have Nancy's back story, but the main idea behind each novel is the individual mystery.
This series can be read in any order. Ages 6-9.

#57-78 were published by Wanderer in hardcover with dust jacket. Most of the books were sold to libraries, so it is very hard to find a Wanderer hardcover book that is not a library discard. These books are almost always described as RARE, but #78 is the only book that is RARE.
Nancy is a good role model for girls because she's sympathetic, thoughtful, and friendly. This book is dated, so younger kids may need help reading it. Violence: People are threatened; a truck nearly hits Nancy and her father; someone is drugged and kidnapped; etc. It's not scary, though.
Once scorned literature rejected by many, the classic Nancy Drew books have now become prized collector's items. In most cases, the Nancy Drew dust jackets are worth far more than the actual book. The dust jacket on a first edition of the first Nancy Drew book is now worth approximately seven times that of the book.
To clarify, River Heights is a fictional town somewhere in the Midwest. While its location is not named in the original books, later versions place the town near Chicago, Illinois.
Nancy is often assisted in solving mysteries by her two closest friends: cousins Bess Marvin and George Fayne. Bess is delicate and feminine, while George is a tomboy. Nancy is also occasionally joined by her boyfriend Ned Nickerson, a student at Emerson College. Nancy is often described as a super girl.
