In 1950, Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan authored the first annexe that would pave a path to the drafting of the Constitution. Elected in 1947, the first Constituent Assembly drafted and adopted its first constitution in 1956.

Qaumi Taranah (literally meaning National Anthem in Urdu) is the official national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The music was composed by Ahmad G. The incumbent Governor-General, Iskander Mirza, became Pakistan's first president.
