MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - It's been 24 years since "North and South" was filmed at Boone Hall Plantation. Tuesday, people on a tour of the plantation got to see a special tribute that was set up to remember the fallen actor. Deirdra Haneman is tour guide at Boone Hall.
Bent does in fact exist in the third book. He does kill Constance and kidnaps Charles' son and they do hunt him down. Orry dies in Book II.
-Virgilia Hazard – Portrayed by Kirstie Alley, George Hazard's younger sister had been killed at the end of â€BOOK II†- executed for the murder of a congressman. However . . . this never happened in the second novel. And her character played a major role in the third novel.
Orry Main (Patrick Swayze), 18-year-old son of a wealthy South Carolina plantation owner, is leaving home to attend West Point. Riding off, he soon encounters a runaway coach, which crashes, throwing the driver to the ground in a heap.
And the bright future is symbolized by Charles Main, Orry's younger brother. He's like Hamlet in that he can't decide what to do after the war. Charles, vulnerable and brave, is played by Kyle Chandler of "Homefront."

She witnesses the brutal world wreaked by the Industrial Revolution, seeing employers and workers clashing in the first strikes.
Back in South Carolina, George and Madeline prepare for an attack from the Klan. Ashton returns to find what remains of her beloved Mont Royal. With Madeline's school burned to the ground by the Klan, they decide to rebuild.
