Who created the flag of Pakistan?
2. The idea of the spinning wheel was put forth by Lala Hansraj, and Gandhi commissioned Pingali Venkayya to design a flag on a red and green banner. The flag underwent some changes and became the official flag of the Congress at the 1931 meeting.
The stripes represent the original 13 Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well; red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice.
Yet, little is known about the person who designed the Tricolour. While the flag has undergone changes in the past decades, its basic framework is credited to Pingali Venkayya. On India's 73rd Independence Day, ThePrint looks back at the life of Venkayya and his contribution to India's national flag.
The official state flag for use on land was
the Union Flag of the United Kingdom and it was this flag that was lowered on Independence Day in 1947.

The national flag of Japan is a rectangular white banner bearing a crimson-red circle at its center. On Independence day, flag hoisting takes place at the Red Fort in New Delhi. The Prime Minister addresses the nation from the ramparts of 'Lal Quila'. While, on Republic Day the celebratory event takes place at the Rajpath in the national capital. The President unfurls the flag at the Rajpath.
Salute the flag whenever it is paraded, when the Pledge of Allegiance is said, or when the National Anthem is played. Those not in uniform should salute the flag by standing at attention, tall and straight, with the left arm at the side, and placing the right hand over the heart.
The Chakra or the wheel also symbolizes
the Power of the State governed by Dharma. It is also called the tiranga or tricolour. The flag was discovered by Venkayya Pingali. Gandhi first in 1921, Congress spoke of their flag.
