Bonga points expiry
Accumulated bonga points will expire after a certain period which will be communicated by Safaricom. As soon as your points expire, no cash refunds or compensations can be offered by the company.To enrol, check or to redeem your Bonga Points, simply dial *126# and follow the prompts. You will receive a confirmation SMS once enrolled and you automatically get 10 FREE POINTS. If you register your personal information when enrolling to Bonga, we will automatically reward you with 30 FREE POINTS.
Customers will redeem 1 Bonga Point for 30 cents, a 50% increase from the previous 20 cents per point, at over 140,000 Lipa Na M-Pesa merchants countrywide for the next 30 days. Merchants accepting Lipa Na Bonga will receive a cash equivalent of the points redeemed, making it a normal business transaction.
Bonga Points can be redeemed for rewards ranging from Talk-time (Minutes), Data, SMS and MMS bundles to Merchandise redeemable at any Safaricom Retail Centre countrywide.
You can now redeem your Bonga Points and pay for goods and services from select Lipa Na M-PESA outlet. Use your Bonga Points to go shopping or even fill up your car tank for an amazing road trip. All you have to do is visit one of the participating Lipa Na M-PESA outlets, shop, dial *126# and select Lipa na Bonga!
4 smartphones you can buy from Safaricom by topping up your Bonga points. For Safaricom subscribers, for every Kshs 10 that is spent on the network calling, sending text messagings, buying data bundles and whatnot, usually earns one Bonga point, the name for the Safaricom's customer loyalty rewards scheme.
To share Points, you can use USSD method:
- Dial *126# and select submenu 4: to “Transfer Bonga Points”. Alternatively dial *126*4#.
- Enter the recipient mobile number.
- Enter amount to transfer.
- Click OK to confirm.

To redeem or transfer points, customers will dial *126#. Customers can redeem as little as one shilling via Lipa Na Bonga at key merchants including Naivas Supermarket, Tuskys and Eastmatt.
How to check for Bonga Points. Check the total number of points you have accumulated at any time by simply texting the word POINTS to 124 or dialling *124#. As a PrePay subscriber, you can accurately check your total points one hour after the last airtime usage.
