After Sephiroth goes ballistic, you'll return to Kalm Town. Pick the top option to save your game, or the bottom option to continue. Cloud's narrative starts off back at Nibelheim, where he enters the large mansion at the edge of town.
Materia Keeper is not an optional boss. He must be defeated before you can pass through the mountain range.
Exit is a Magic Materia in Final Fantasy VII equipped to provide the spells Escape and Remove. The former spell allows the player to escape from a battle immediately without a reward, while the latter removes an enemy from the battle with no spoils received.
Travel to the very back of town towards the giant rocket and then follow the pathway around to the left side of the screen. Ascend the stairs and then climb the tower to the top of the rocket. You will meet Cid inside the ship hallway - speak to him too and you will get the opportunity to name him.
Skill materias. With that go to the beach near Costa Del Sol and get into an encounter with Beachplugs. Then you have to succesfully manipulate one and have it cast Big Guard on your party; any character with the E. Skill equipped will learn it as a result.
If you have Bio2, use it because Materia Keeper can be poisoned. Strong magic and limit breaks should be enough to wear him down though.
There are four Enemy Skill Materia to obtain:
- In the sample tank in Professor Hojo's lab in the Shinra Building after Red XIII joins the party. (Missable.)
- In the Respectable Inn in Junon.
- In one of the houses in the Forgotten City.
- Received from the Chocobo Sage's Mountain Chocobo.
Final Fantasy VIICosmo Memory is Red XIII's ultimate Limit Break, learned after obtaining all other Limit Breaks and obtaining the Cosmo Memory manual at Nibelheim from defeating Lost Number in the Shinra Manor. It inflicts non-elemental damage to all enemies equal to 713⁄16 times normal damage.
Vincent can be found in the basement of the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim. You can pick him up the first time you visit with Cloud and co., or anytime after that. The first step in getting Vincent is to unlock the safe in the room above the greenhouse on the second floor.
Rocket Town is located to the North-West on Gaia's Western continent.
He went berserk and destroyed Nibelheim. His 2nd leftanenant Zack Fair was there and together with Tifa and Cloud (who was disguisef as a Shinra trooper) they managed to fight and killed Sephiroth. Cloud took his sword and stabbef Sephiroth, throwing him into the reactor/mako below.
Gold Saucer can only be reached via a free cable car from North Corel. There is a save point here, but it requires 5 GP to use (the player can avoid paying the fee with the save point glitch). The entrance fee is 3,000 gil, but a lifetime pass can be bought for 30,000 gil.

Shortly after them becoming involved, Lucrecia becomes pregnant with Hojo's child, which is later injected with jenova cells and becomes Sephiroth. But it seems more likely based on Sephiroth's personality/physical traits and Vincent's relationship with Lucrecia that Vincent is actually Sephiroth's true father.
In the end, however, just like in the game, Cloud is ultimately victorious and defeats Sephiroth; which seems to confirm, in theory, that if on equal grounds at their prime, Cloud is in fact stronger than Sephiroth — or at the very least, equal enough to rival in strength and skill to defeat him fairly.
Sephiroth makes a great villain because he has depth. He has conviction. Players witness his destructive path and the toll that it has on the world and the characters of the FFVII campaign. Sephiroth is one of the greatest examples of evil in the entire franchise, and here are the ten worst things he ever did.
Cloud isn't a Sephiroth clone, he had the cells implanted in him after he was born and grown up. Whereas Sephiroth had the cells implanted in the womb.
Sephiroth wants Cloud to bring the Black Materia to his true body in North Crater so he keeps messing with his mind to gain control of him. So when he conveys this to Cloud he actually thinks he is helping Cloud to realize the truth. We know he is wrong however, and Cloud eventually finds out he is wrong too.
In an interview published Monday by VG247, FF7 Remake co-director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that Red XIII, the talking fiery wolf-dog creature that joins the party in the original, won't be a playable character in this first entry.
Honestly, the only big reason for the two to be rivals, on both of their behalves, is because Cloud is the protagonist and Sephiroth is the Antagonist.
