Nintendo has unofficially placed Tri Force Heroes' role in the canon before, but only in interviews for the game's launch. Nintendo could've conveniently ignored Tri Force Heroes and relegated it to side-game status, but instead, Nintendo has committed it and its events into official canon.
You have to go into your system settings under data management. Then choose 3ds, and choose the type of data you want to view/remove. If you downloaded your copy, erasing and redownloading the game might do the trick.

The Dark World is the Sacred Realm transformed by Ganon's wish to rule Hyrule. Lorule is a parralel world from hyrule. For "some" reason, the corrupted sacred realm took the form of a Lorule-like world, but they aren't the same place.
