Qualifications: Anyone applying to the position of ASI and SI (Stenographer) must have at a minimum passed their Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a board or university recognized by the central or state government. The candidate should have an aptitude for stenography.
You must hold a level 2 qualification in English Language at a GCSE grade C or above, or grades 4-9. If you do not have this qualification, we will also consider a higher level academic attainment (level 3 or above) in a UK qualification or an English Language equivalent overseas qualification.

Salary – New police constables receive a basic starting salary between £24,177-£30,369 depending on their force. You could also receive location allowances of up to £6,735.
For instance, constables in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh start with Rs. 10,300 as their basic pay and they earn up to Rs. 34,800, with an additional interim pay too. While the salary of head constables and assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) is the highest in Telangana, their pay is better in Kerala than in Karnataka.

Officers receive their full starting salary while training at a police academy. Successfully complete the six months of academy training and you get a bump in salary.
