Lava won't kill you if it briefly touches you. You would get a nasty burn, but unless you fell in and couldn't get out, you wouldn't die. In fact there have been 2 cases at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory where a geologist fell into lava.
Formed from clashing of two tectonic plates – the Indo-Australian and Eurasian plates, Mount Everest is not a volcano. Mount Everest is a mountain. Mount Everest will never erupt! Mount Everest consists of sedimentary and metamorphic rock formed from the downward fold of earth crust on Tethys Sea.
Tambora – Indonesia - 1815
The explosion of Mount Tambora is the largest ever recorded by humans, ranking a 7 (or "super-colossal") on the Volcanic Explosivity Index, the second-highest rating in the index. The Yellowstone Caldera is a volcanic caldera and supervolcano in Yellowstone National Park in the Western United States, sometimes referred to as the Yellowstone Supervolcano. The caldera and most of the park are located in the northwest corner of Wyoming.
Here are the five deadliest volcanoes in history:
- Tambora, Indonesia (1815) The largest recorded volcanic eruption in history, Tambora caused enough starvation and disease to kill approximately 80,000 people.
- Krakatau, Indonesia (1883)
- Pelée, Martinique (1902)
- Ruiz, Colombia (1985)
- Unzen, Japan (1792)
There were 73 confirmed eruptions at some point during 2019 from 70 different volcanoes; 28 of those were new eruptions that started during the year. A stop date with "(continuing)" indicates that the eruption was considered to be ongoing as of the date indicated.
Here are just three of the biggest volcano eruptions in the last 50 years.

There are about 20 known supervolcanoes on Earth - including Lake Toba in Indonesia, Lake Taupo in New Zealand, and the somewhat smaller Phlegraean Fields near Naples, Italy.

Lava flows are almost always too slow to run over people, but they can certainly run over houses, roads, and any other structures. Pyroclastic flows are mixtures of hot gas and ash, and they travel very quickly down the slopes of volcanoes. They are so hot and choking that if you are caught in one it will kill you.
Mauna Loa is runner-up to Tamu Massif for the world's biggest volcano. Also an enormous ocean volcano, Mauna Loa is one of five volcanoes on the Big Island of Hawaii. Its most recent eruption was in 1984, and Mauna Loa has spewed lava 33 times in the past 170 years.
