Prior to my visit I'd heard that a lot of guests get bored after just half a day at Disney California Adventure Park. However, we easily spent a whole day at this park as there are plenty of rides and shows to keep the whole family entertained.
The difference is, Disneyland Park is all about the Magic of Disney. There are more rides, more lands, more rides for adults, and generally a better park. California Adventure serves alcohol in a couple of their restaurants. Disney just opened the big Pixar thing and theme, so that would be highlighted in both parks.
We've found that California Adventure with kids is most fun when you start your time there with a totally realistic expectation about the types of rides you'll get to do. We were just there with a 5 and 8 year old, and although tall enough for almost everything, not everything was a good idea for both of them.
1. Re: Is California Adventure worth the money? Yes, California Adventure Park is worth it just for Soarin Over the World, seeing Carlsland at night, and various other attractions Imo. BUT, Disneyland has 2 Parks and over 100 attractions that can easily take 2 or 3 days for a visit.
Across the esplanade, Disney California Adventure sells alcohol at many locations and allows visitors to walk around the park with their drinks. Like at Oga's Cantina, Blue Bayou diners will not be able to get their drinks to go. Beer, wine and cocktails must be consumed inside the restaurant.
Fill in the blank: Dining and __________ in and around Disneyland.

| Grizzly River Run | 42" |

In California, the first park fatality occurred 10 years after opening, in 1964, when a guest disregarded safety instructions and died of injuries sustained on the Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction. Other guests have died from failure to abide by safety rules as well, and also from suicide, drowning, and even murder.
If you google “Disneyland accidents,†you get over 800,000 hits in Google. Among the most frequently cited are two deaths on the Matterhorn, one of the icons of the park. There are only a handful of fatal incidents in the 66-year history of the park, so each one has gained outsized infamy as a result.)
Right now, the only roller coaster that goes upside down is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster with Areosmith at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Not only does this coaster invert but it also takes thrill-seekers on a speed ride through Hollywood.

Radiator Springs Racers is the newest attraction to be opened in Disney's California Adventure. It is an amazing thrilling but not scary ride throughout the world of Disney Cars.
Disney California Adventure currently has 34 attractions in the theme park.
Disney classifies the ride as a “Thrill Rideâ€, with big drops, and that is dark, loud, and scary. The ride is aimed at adults and teens, but is really for everyone, as long as they meet the height requirement. Guests who would like to ride Mission: BREAKOUT! must be at least 40 inches tall.
55 mph -IncredicoasterFormerly California Screamin', the Incredicoaster is the fastest ride at Disneyland. Clocking in at 55 mph, it's a full 15mph faster than its closest competitor.
Although initially, it may seem like an overwhelming task, by planning a trip carefully, guests can ride all 40-plus rides at Disneyland over the course of a single day.
Many kids claim that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the scariest ride at the park, because of its frequent and sometimes unexpected drops. It is a fast roller coaster that is designed for both children and adults.
There are two basic types of adult theme-park visitors: those who LOVE thrill rides, and those who AVOID them at all costs. The good news: Disneyland Resort knows how to make the parks fun for both types of guests. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – more curves than drops but you get enough speed to enjoy it.
Currently, the fastest roller coaster in the world—traveling at up to 149 miles per hour—is the Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The world's tallest, standing at 456 feet, is Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.
Another launched coaster, and one of the most intense rides at Walt Disney World, Rock n' Roller Coaster reaches a maximum speed of 57 mph. Guests are given a close up view of the launch mechanism before boarding, and are made to wait for a few, anxiety inducing seconds as their vehicle sits on the launch track.

Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® is considered a thrill ride and reaches speeds up to 50 mph; we would categorize it somewhere between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad® Attraction and Rock 'n Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith.
