In a nice twist for Cheddar, Steinberg said his fledging video channel is debuting this week as Channel 221 on Spectrum's cable offering in New York and will be part of the new OTT Spectrum TV Essentials that is launching for the cable giant's internet-only customers.
Video news startup Cheddar is being bought by cable company Altice USA for $200 million. Cheddar founder and CEO Jon Steinberg will become president of the new company's Altice News unit.
