The new OCR GCSE (9-1) English Language qualification requires all learners to sit two different 2 hour exams. Following discussions with teachers, we felt that it was best to include more assessment time to allow learners the time to read the unseen texts, plan their answers and respond to the tasks.Memorise your answers.
If you do end up sounding like you're reading, practice pausing and adding 'umm' to make it sound more spontaneous. Learn your answers one phrase or sentence at a time. Select a chunk and repeat it to yourself over and over until you've got it. Then learn the next chunk.Candidates must undertake a prepared spoken presentation on a specific topic. As a guide, the duration of the whole assessment should be no more than ten minutes.
In worst case if you need to ask them, make sure you start the conversation with any general topic and then calmly ask “So, how was your exam?” and please don't miss the smile on you face while asking this question.
