Discipline is the process of teaching your child what type of behavior is acceptable and what type is not acceptable. In other words, discipline teaches a child to follow rules. Effective discipline uses many different tools, like positive reinforcement, modeling, and a loving and supportive family.
The objective of disciplining any student is to help the student develop and maintain self-control, respect for others and socially acceptable behavior. All policies and procedures regarding student discipline shall be designed to achieve these broad objectives.

How to cope with being disciplined

Self discipline is the ability you have to control and motivate yourself, stay on track and do what is right. An example of self discipline is when you make sure you get up an hour early before work each day to get to the gym. The disciplining or controlling of oneself or one's desires, actions, habits, etc.
Most companies use these four types of discipline in the workplace:
- Verbal warning. When an issue arises, a serious conversation should take place between the manager and the employee.
- Written warning.
- Suspension and improvement plan.
- Termination.
Though teachers usually develop their own styles of discipline for their classrooms, most discipline strategies can be categorized into three main styles or approaches.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DISCIPLINE? The immediate supervisor is responsible for maintaining discipline and morale among the employees he supervises and for initiating appropriate disciplinary action where the facts warrant such action. The line supervisor is responsible for the enforcement of company rules.
There are different types of misbehavior and each requires a specific treatment or discipline method to be used. According the book, Building Classroom Discipline: Sixth Edition; there are three types of discipline, (1) preventive, (2) supportive and (3) corrective.
They also need to know how misconduct is defined and be aware of the different types of misconduct they might encounter — and it's in your company's best interest to teach them.

Discipline is an approach used by management to modify undesirable performance and behavior through the use of a corrective action process. At the onset of any employee performance or conduct issues, supervisors are strongly encouraged to contact Employee Relations staff for assistance.
A disciplinary procedure is a formal way for an employer to deal with an employee's: unacceptable or improper behaviour ('misconduct')
Serious disciplinary history is disciplinary action under a public sector disciplinary law involving: termination of employment; or. a disciplinary declaration under a public sector disciplinary law of termination of employment or reduction of classification level or rank.
Management as a discipline refers to that branch of knowledge which is connected to study of principles & practices of basic administration. It specifies certain code of conduct to be followed by the manager & also various methods for managing resources efficiently.
Types of Workplace Violations
- Unpaid Compensable Time.
- Unpaid Vacation Time.
- "Use It or Lose It" Vacation Leave.
- Unpaid Commission or Bonus.
- Misclassification of Employees as Exempt Workers.
- Misclassification of Employees as Independent Contractors.
- Unpaid or Improperly Calculated Overtime Pay.
Major misconduct is an employee's behavior, which is serious enough to potentially destroys the relationship between an employer and employee. The conduct must be deliberate or amount to gross negligence and entitles an employer to dismiss the employee with immediate effect, without any notice.
Failure to meet work performance standards. Failure of a supervisory employee to complete evaluations as scheduled, address safety and/or liability issues in the workplace, or to take corrective disciplinary action where such action is needed.
Discipline is an important idea in organizing human action, including in the family and in work. It is related to the word disciple. To discipline a child is to punish the child for bad behavior. Self-discipline is controlling your own actions. Military discipline is training people to obey rules and keep order.
Start taking small actions to make things better. Do the things that hurt you less. Push yourself into discomfort a little bit, so you can get better at this over time. Get good at self-discipline with some practice.
Proverbs 13:24 says, “Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him”. It's actually because we love our children that we discipline them. One of the most loving things we can do for our kids is give them a strong sense of security and purpose in daily life.
The truth is, self-discipline is a learned skill, not an innate characteristic . Instead, the only way to improve your self-discipline is through intentional and dedicated practice. As with all types of self-improvement, change is difficult and it takes time.
