Students who wish to opt for engineering after Class 12, take bifocal courses in FYJC. Those who take up science (bifocal), can drop biology and a second language subject and opt for subjects like electronics, computer science, electrical maintenance, etc, instead.
Bifocal subjects can be taken in both science and commerce. A bifocal student in science takes up conventional courses such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, English and one bifocal subject which can be computer science, electronics and others.
Bifocal Courses are those vocational subjects prescribed by the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training can be taken as an optional subject (200 marks) with Arts, Commerce or Science streams. Bifocal courses are taken if you don't want to take biology and second language in FYJC, i.e. you can take electronics, computer science, electrical maintainance, etc(any one of them) in place of biology, and second language. So bifocal courses are the best if you want to do engineering.
General science is an interdisciplinary major that gives you a grand tour of the sciences. You study biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, and/or psychology — and at least a year of mathematics. You choose one science as your concentration, pursuing advanced work in that discipline.
The subjects offered in the science stream for bifocal are electronics, computer science, scooter-motor cycle servicing, mechanical maintenance and others, while the subjects offered in commerce stream are banking, marketing and others.
What are the subjects in Science in class 11? The science stream has two sub-branches, divided based on the third subject you study: Medical – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Optional Subject. Non-Medical – Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English, Optional Subject.
More than 32,000 students, who could not get admission to First Year of Junior College (FYJC) in the first four rounds, will soon get another opportunity to bag a seat in an institute of their choice.
