Numbers and letters are not called in sequence. Instead, the letters represent the type of transaction each customer must complete. For example, numbers that are preceded by an “A” are for car registration renewals. Numbers with a “C” are for new driver's licenses.
A class C driver's license is a special type of commercial driver's license (CDL). Drivers who obtain a class C license may operate passenger vans, small hazardous materials (HAZMAT) trucks, and small trucks towing a trailer.
An endorsement on your driving licence means that you have been given points which will remain on your licence until they expire - depending on the type of offence committed, this is usually four or eleven years. The most common type of a driver's license is the Class C non-commercial license. This course will give you the knowledge to obtain a Class C driver's license that provides you the permit to drive the following types of vehicles: 2-axle vehicle with a GCWR of 26,000 lbs. or less.

The CDL endorsements that typically earn the most are:
- Hazmat: Your CDL license does not allow you to transport liquids, only dry goods.
- Tanker: CDL drivers with a tanker endorsement usually earn around $70,000 per year.
- Trailer: Hauling larger, heavier loads typically requires the double/triple trailer endorsement.
The H endorsement is required to operate a vehicle that contains hazardous materials. A written knowledge test is needed to obtain a hazmat endorsement.
Directions: To receive this endorsement, applicants must pass a test consisting of 20 multiple choice questions. Each question has four answer choices. To pass, the applicant must answer at least 16 questions correctly. Test questions come from the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers Handbook.
All applicants for the passenger endorsement must have knowledge covering at least the following topics:
- The proper procedures for loading/unloading passengers;
- Proper use of emergency exits, including push out windows;
- The proper responses to such emergency situations as fires and unruly passengers;
Non-CDL drivers who are subject to the medical exam requirement must have a valid medical certificate (DOT med card) in their possession while driving, and their employing motor carrier must have a copy of the certificate in the driver's qualification file.
The Environment Agency (EA) can reduce or stop spray irrigation under Section 57 of the Water Resources Act 1991. This is a last resort restriction in order to protect the environment. All abstraction licences for spray irrigation within a water catchment can be reduced or stopped.
A "Class A" bus is an articulated bus. They are considered combination vehicles towing greater than 10,000lbs so they need a "Class A" license.

(b) It is the intent of the Legislature that all school districts, private schools, California Community Colleges, and all campuses of the California State University that own a 15-passenger van should require that those vehicles may only be driven by a person holding a commercial driver's license.

No, it is not necessary to have a CDL in order to drive any fire apparatus. This is because fire trucks are not classed as commercial vehicles. Therefore, there is a federal exemption that allows firefighters to operate the various apparatus without the need for any special drivers' licenses.
