If you don't have naturally thick lashes, you may prefer to choose hybrid lash extensions to get the best of both worlds. Of course, 3D eyelash extensions and other volumes will likely give you lashes you won't stop looking at.
The Hybrid technique is a combination of two different lash application techniques rolled into one set of lashes. This is achieved by adding long lengths of classic lashes that are strategically placed to create a frame and filled in between with the volume extensions to give a spiky textured look.
Once you are super comfortable with lashing and you get to know your products (whether you're using our Yegi Lashes or another brand) it is definitely OK to mix different types of lashes and curls together!
Plain and simple – Hybrid Lashes are a mixture of Classic Lashes and Russians Volume. These lashes are great if you would like the classic lashes to extend the length but also would like the volume from the Russian if your natural lashes are sparse.
PLEASE DON'T use mascara on volume or hybrid lashes – regardless of which brand you use, mascara makes volume fans snap shut. This means your lashes will look clumpy and stick together. We will not be able to infill volume lashes that have had mascara applied to them.
We definitely do not need to pause to answer this one, yes! They can be mixed. We may hear this being called a "Mixed" set or a "Hybrid" set is the more popular term for it. Hybrid sets are when classic and volume eyelash extensions are mixed throughout the same lash set.
Volume lashes have a stronger bond, meaning because there are 3D+ lashes on, each individual lash extension on that 3D 'fan' will bond together, wrapping around the natural lash. This is why volume lashes seem to last longer between fills.
Volume lashes are lighter, fluffier and give the client a fuller look. One (3D) Volume fan weighs less than 1 classic lash extension. Also, a lot less glue is used during the volume technique so you don't feel any weight on your eyes at all. You just see beautiful fluffy lashes.
Lash extensions are adhered to individual lashes, so a “full set” really differs from person to person. On average, people can have anywhere between 90 to 150 lashes per eye on the upper lid and between 70 and 80 smaller lashes on the lower lash line.
Students often ask us what are the most popular eyelash extensions by thickness, length and curl. The answer is - CC 0.07 12mm. C curl is the most natural looking and D curl is a bit more dramatic.
C curl: The most commonly used curl, it creates attractive lashes as if they were curled with an eyelash curler. CC curl: The perfect in between curl, it gives you the perfect curl between C and D curls. D curl: Creates doll-like lashes for a more dramatic look.
