It turns out 38B is a more unusual size, because people with wider backs usually have larger breasts. In some stores, I found, it is completely unrealistic to even hope to find a bra in that size.

As you're a size 10 and of medium build, 36C sounds like an average size to be. It isn't considered to be large, it's generally D or bigger that are classed as "big".

Measuring your bra size
- 1: band size. Pull the tape measure around your chest, just below your underarms.
- 2: bust measurement. Now measure loosely around the fullest part of your bustline.
- 3: cup size. Your band measurement subtracted from your bust measurement will give you your cup size.
- Example:
An A-C or even D cup could be considered small, and a D-DD cup is average. Go where you will from that and the ratios to other band sizes, a 34B is larger than a 32C, but smaller than a 32D. So as you go up in a band size, the difference between cups is more like 1.5.

The letters - like A, B, C, D - stand for cup sizes. The numbers - like 32, 34, 36, 38 – tell you the band size – that's the part of the bra that goes around your torso. In other words, a 34A means that your boobs are an A cup and that your bra is 34 inches around.
A 32A will have a band that fits a ribcage that is 32 inches around and a cup that will neatly and comfortably hold A cup breasts. A 32B will do exactly the same, but for B cup breasts. 34B bra size is not so big and is on the small side of average. Most people think that cup sizes are the same if they are labeled with same alphabet but that is not the case. The cup size increases with the increment in the band size. Hence, 34B is larger than 28B or 30B and is smaller than 36B or 38B.
In between cup sizes? Bra sizes that share a row are called sister sizes, meaning they share the same cup volume (though they have different cup letters). For example, the row with bra sizes 36C, 38B, and 40A all have the same cup volume, but have different band sizes.
There is no specific cup size for a bust of 28 inches. Most commonly in stores they sell the combinations of a and b cups with that bust circumference, but technically, you could be any cup/bust size combination.

How does it work? – If you feel like the band is TOO THIGHT, you could try a bra with a bigger band size and a smaller cup size: if you are a size 75C, a size 80B will have the same cup size, but a bigger band size.

One thing you need to know, band sizes stay the same in US and UK sizing, e.g., a US 32 band is the same as a UK 32 band. Since the bra industry doesn't have standardized sizing, variation in how tight or loose a band is cut varies between UK and US manufacturers.
