Update Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
- Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and Select Update Software.
- If there's an update, select Download and Install.
- After the update downloads, your Apple TV will restart and prepare the update.
- After Apple TV prepares the update, it will install it.
Unfortunately Disney+ does not support the third generation Apple TV, so you won't find it as a stand alone app, nor will you find its content in the TV app. All is not lost however, as you can still play it on your Apple TV from your iPhone by using screen mirroring and it works fine.

An Apple TV is well worth it for some people and not for others. If you have a Smart TV that's reasonably recent, you might be able to get the majority of things you're interested in on your TV without a separate streaming box.

- Launch the App Store app from your Home screen.
- Make sure you're on the Featured tab.
- Navigate to an app you want to download.
- Click on the app icon.
- Click on Get for free (or free with in-app purchase) apps, or the price for paid apps.
- Click Buy to confirm.
Software Update: Keep your Apple TV up-to-date with automatic installation of available software updates. Setup: Use an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 7 to automatically transfer network settings, your Apple ID, and language preferences to Apple TV (3rd generation). This isn't available for iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
When the light on your Apple TV flashes, you can let go, and it will restart. On older Apple TVs, do this by holding down the menu and down buttons at the same time. Lastly, you can unplug your Apple TV from its power source. Wait six seconds, plug it back in, and it will restart.

Out of the box, Apple TV will only work with newer televisions that have HDMI ports. If you have an older TV, you can buy an adapter that will allow you to use it with composite cables. (The red, yellow, and white ports).
