(CNN) Liverpool has announced Nike will become its new kit manufacturer from the 2020-21 season in a deal worth a reported $39.5 million per year. It replaces the English Premier League club's current deal with New Balance after the league leaders successfully won a High Court dispute with the manufacturer in October.
Liverpool was the first English professional club to have a sponsor's logo on its shirts, after agreeing a deal with Hitachi in 1979. Since then the club has been sponsored by Crown Paints, Candy, Carlsberg and Standard Chartered.
Nike reported revenue of $10.2 billion in Q4 2019, marking a growth of 4% over $9.8 billion in Q4 2018. For the full year, revenue came in at $39.1 billion in FY 2019, which was 7.5% higher on year-on-year basis.

The Barclays Premier League will no longer be called the Barclays Premier League. After next season the Premier League will drop their title sponsor, Barclays. The league says that the move is being made in order to help the brand more competitive internationally as it takes on America's NFL and NBA.
