FM2+ motherboards are backwardcompatible with FM2 based APU and CPU. Ryzen will fit into a new socket known as AM4,the same of which will be used for AMD's other new APUs. If you'recoming from an AM3+ or another motherboard, Ryzen will notwork, as it's not backwards compatible with older boards andprevious sockets.

The total amount of threads is referred to as the total amount of Logical Processors. A consumer grade quad-core processor can have 4 threads at a minimum and 8 threads at a maximum.
AMD FX-6300According to data from CPU Benchmark, this six-core processor offers the best value across all price categories, refuting all claims that PC gaming is a costly endeavor.
Professional gamers would bend towards the AM4 CPU, whereas a somewhat casual gamer would incline toward an AM3+ CPU. Users with more money to spend on PC builds are definitely suggested to go for an AM4 CPU, but those who may not have the stash to splash on the AM4, the AM3+ CPUs are not too far behind.
To answer it simply, the Ryzen 3000 processors are AM4 socket CPUs, which means any motherboard with an AM4 socket will work. This includes the new X570 chipset motherboards, X470 boards, and B450 as the three most common.

The ryzen 1200 is better for gaming than the FX 8350 IMO. the '8' core (grain of salt needed) is really slow when it comes to single core performance, actually lower ipc than the A10 (Kavari vs Bulldozer). 8350 will be much better than that but just go with Ryzen. Less power/noise.

No. They actually designed a line of Athlon CPUs for the AM4 socket. That above is for FM2, and will not even fit.
Sometimes. AMD has been pretty good about this for the last few CPU generations. They maintained CPU compatibility with the AM4 socket, although you will need to update the BIOS software to support newer CPUs. And yes, those boards are backward compatible, at least as far as Ryzen goes.
Speed up the computer a little bit; then, if all goes well, go back and speed it up some more. You can start by increasing the multiplier for one core and go slowly for the others. The more cores you overclock, the hotter (and more unstable) things become. Save your settings and reboot the system.
