Students who miss a SAC for any reason will be required to complete the task after school at the SAC Catch- Up sessions run from 3.30pm in the College Library on Tuesdays-Thursdays. This must occur within a reasonable timeframe and in consultation with the subject teacher and year level leader.

Honestly it isnt so hard to get a 90+ atar, as around 16.5% of people who did the HSC in 2014 got an atar of 90.00 or higher. During Year 11 and 12, you're given School Assessed Coursework (SACs) and at the end of the year, you have the final exam to test your competency on the subject. The marks you get for the SACs and final exam are used to determine your raw study score for each of your VCE subject.
To calculate the study score, the total for each student for all graded assessments in a study is ranked, and the rank is converted into a whole number score. The conversion spreads out scores so that the top mark becomes 50 and the average mark (or mean) across the state is 30.
A raw study score of 40 would mean that you performed better than around 91% of all students who took the same subject. A raw study score of 50 means that you performed in the top 0.3% of students enrolled in the subject.
A study score of 30 is average, 40 is top 9% and 45 is the top 2%. A study score of 35 indicates you are in the top 26% of the state, so if you think about it, it's a pretty amazing score!

A student studying Psychology not only has to contend with the inevitable scaling down of their study score, they also have to compete with the above-average number of students completing the subject. The good news is that the higher a student's study score in these subjects, the less it gets scaled down.
