The players in that bowl will receive a duffle bag, a football and Nine Line Apparel patriotic athletic wear, plus access to a gift suite. As always, the merchandise they take home will not be valued at more than $550, none of it cash. The amount has not budged in years, and the NCAA says it has no plans to alter it.

In the BCS format, four regular bowl games and the National Championship Game were considered "BCS bowl games." The four bowl games were the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, California, the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, and the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Florida.
2020 National Championship Game: Date, time
The national championship is set to be played at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020. The game will be at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. That might seem ridiculous now, given what just happened, but just give it time to play out. Remember, a two-loss team has never made the College Football Playoff. LSU celebrates SEC Championship win over Georgia
The SEC produced the best record, including the College Football Playoff, for the bowl season as LSU finished unbeaten after defeating Clemson for the national championship.From 2006 until 2013, Chick-fil-A's contract gave it full naming rights and the game was referred to as the Chick-fil-A Bowl as a result. The traditional "Peach Bowl" name was reinstated following the announcement that the bowl would be one of the six College Football Playoff bowls.

Just as important, programs that don't go to bowls lose. But in most cases, going to a bowl game is much more important than winning it. Though only two of the 41 bowl games played by 80 teams in the next month will matter as far as determining a national champion, they all matter.
1. Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl, aptly nicknamed “The Granddaddy of Them All,” was first played in 1902, making it the oldest college bowl game in the United States.

Conference teams have, by far, claimed the most national championships in the country all-time at 513, over 200 more than the next closest league (Big Ten - 311). Only three institutions across all divisions have won at least 100 NCAA titles all-time and all three are Pac-12 members.

schools play in bowl games and are allowed 85 scholarship players. Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) schools compete for an NCAA championship through a playoff format and are limited to 63 scholarship players.
Conferences earned a total profit of $448 million from bowl games during the 2017-18 college football postseason, according to NCAA documents obtained by USA Today, with most revenue stemming from the College Football Playoff and major bowl games such as the Cotton Bowl.
The school gets a trophy for the win and the players get the ring. College is short and winning a bowl is a big deal for the players.

The Rose Bowl typically features the champions of the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences. In years when the Rose Bowl is not a College Football Playoff semifinal game and the Big Ten or Pac-12 champion is selected to play in the College Football Playoff, the Rose Bowl Game selects the next best team in the conference.
Football Championship Subdivision
Bowl games that have a contract with a conference must select a team with at least seven wins if one is available. Any bowl berths that become eligible when a conference fails to meet its contracted tie-ins must first be filled by any eligible seven-win teams before any remaining FBS 6–6 teams can be accommodated.
