Following God's Plan for Your Life:
- Be in prayer. A way to know that you are following God's plan for your life is by being in prayer.
- Be actively reading in the Word.
- Follow the commands He puts on your heart.
- Seek a godly community.
- Obey the Truth.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Jesus said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your strength” this will never happen on earth. This was the hardest commandment ever to obey and Christ did it perfectly.
The two versions are different. For example, Exodus states: Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy. Exodus opens in chapter 20: “God spoke all these words, saying.” Deuteronomy 5 similarly states, “Face to face the LORD spoke to you on the mountain out of the fire.”
The differences are: The Ten Commandments shows the existence of a Supreme Being, God the Creator of heaven and Earth. Eightfold Path of Buddhism doesn't mention God or any deity. The Eightfold Path is a middle path of moderation to be practised by Buddhists without any relationship with God.
The Bible actually contains two complete sets of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 and Deut. 5:6-21).
The content of the Law is spread among the books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers, and then reiterated and added to in Deuteronomy. This includes: The Ten Commandments.
Since the time of Moses, our basic obligations have been summed up by the famous laws known as The Ten Commandments. God gave us these laws as a guide for the good living of His people and as a check against evil. The teachings in the New Testament remind us we need God's law but also the spirit of the law.
The poll is part of the Deseret News' annual Ten Today series examining the role of the Ten Commandments in modern life. The study showed that more than 90 percent of Americans agree that the commandments regarding murder, stealing and lying remain fundamental standards of societal behavior.
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? None is good save one, even God. Thou knowest the commandments: Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor thy father and mother. We expect Jesus to recite the entire Decalogue.
God declared that the Israelites were his own people and that they must listen to God and obey His laws. These laws were the Ten Commandments which were given to Moses on two stone tablets, and they set out the basic principles that would govern the Israelites lives.
Importance of the Ten Commandments todayFollowing the commandments helps Jews to become better people today. The commandments help Jews to treat other people with respect. The commandments guide Jews to love and worship God effectively.
The Seven Commandments - written on the barn wall - are the basic principles of animalism and described originally as "unalterable laws" by which the animals were to live. They were meant to keep the animals equal and to ensure that all animals were true to their own nature.
Why Obey. God created man to rule over the Earth. One answer is that God is calling us to obedience and relationship with him through obedience. By obeying his call to take care of this earth we learn more about him and can grow in understanding of his heart and desires for our lives.
Do the following because I am the lord your god:
- Don't worship other gods.
- Don't take god's name in vain.
- Keep the sabbath.
- Honor your parents.
- Don't murder.
- Don't be an adulterer.
- Don't steal.
- Don't commit perjury.
