It's considered a domestic flight, it's internal to the UK which is what border control care about. Domestic flights do sometimes require you to produce ID though but not always. I fly regularly from Edinburgh to London and have never been asked but when flying Glasgow to Cardiff and Glasgow to Belfast I have been.
