The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has reworked the line to connect the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The earlier alignment has been scrapped for the new one in which the line originates from KR Puram and reaches the airport via Hebbal.
“One of the main reasons for the slow progress is lack of interdepartmental coordination,” said a BMRCL official, who is in charge of one of the six phase-II stretches.

First stretch of the Rs 11,600 cr project inaugurated
The first stretch of the Rs 11,600 crore 'Namma Metro' project was inaugurated by Union Urban Development Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, in the presence of the Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr D.V. Sadananda Gowda, BJP leader, Mr Arun Jaitley, and several State Ministers.The nearest metro station to Koramangala is Indira Nagar Metro Station. This metro station is located on Purple Line of Namma Metro. It is an elevated metro station having 2 platforms. Koramangala is 7 km away from Indira Nagar Metro Station.

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) can finally go ahead with the construction of three stations and a depot on the east-west corridor between Baiyappanahalli and Whitefield as the transport utility has got possession of 44.45 acres (18.11 hectares) of forest land.

The Bangalore Metro timings on Saturday are 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. But on Sundays the Bangalore Metro starts at 8:00 am and runs till 11:00 pm.

On normal days, the metro services begin at 6 am and continue till 10 pm except on Sundays when the services begin at 8 am, according to officials.

Here's some great news for all you morning people. Now the metro will start at 7am instead of 8am on Sundays. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) made this announcement this week after multiple requests from commuters to help ease the increased passenger traffic near Majestic station.
