On-street parking charges in Winchester do not apply on Sundays or on Bank Holidays. Parking is also free on Sundays in all Winchester City Council car parks. Overnight parking is free in the majority of council-operated off-street car parks, as parking charges only typically apply from 8am-6pm each day.
There is an excellent Park and Ride service available in Winchester. This is the easiest and cheapest option to park in the city all day. There are also several pay and display car parks within the city centre, including Tower Street, Chesil Street Multi Storey, The Brooks and Middle Brook Street.

Please be aware that South Winchester P&R car park is now closed overnight from 9pm until 6am. The site is also closed on Sundays except on Special Event days.
The city council has decided the increase for all its Winchester car parks. The only prices being frozen are the cost of annual season tickets in St Peters, Tower Street and Gladstone Street which will remain at £2,760. The car parks are Chesil Street Multi-Storey, Cattle Market, Worthy Lane and Coach Park.
Parking is not available at the Court. However, the nearest car park is Tower Street/Sussex street which is less than a five minute walk, and there is a park and ride off Junction 11 as well as 2 further park and rides off junction 10 of the M3.
York Park & Ride sites are ideal for visitors to the city and commuters alike. Please note that overnight parking is not available at any of our Park & Ride sites.

Parking in the centre of York can be quite difficult as narrow medieval streets make up much of the city centre, leaving little available room for stationary cars.
No cheap parking in York on Sundays so as stated use Park and Ride (note earlier finishing times for return bus). This is the third vote for park and ride.
You can park on-street in a number of locations across York. If you have a York residents' Minster Badge you're entitled to discounted or free parking at certain times, in car parks and on-street parking bays.

There are limited pay and display car parking bays nearby, which are free after 6pm.
You can't drive through large parts of York centre during the day as many streets are pedestrianed, one way or bus/taxi only.
Parking is readily available all around the city of York, with 15 public car parks operated by the City of York Council and several privately-run car parks. If you want more time to explore the city, you can even extend your parking on the go!
FREE PARKING IN REDCAR & CLEVELANDSHOPPERS looking to do a spot of Christmas shopping in towns and villages across the borough can now take advantage of free parking after 1.00pm in council Pay & Display car parks.
TWO hours of free parking has been extended to Darlington Council's town centre car parks for the next two years. Car parks outside this area will revert to earlier parking charges.
People can park for free for up to three hours in Hartlepool Borough Council car parks within the boundaries of Victoria Road, York Road, Park Road and Stockton Street.
Pay and displayOurcar parks (with the exception of East Street) are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Charges vary. Payment can be made by coins, credit/debit card and pay by phone. Ticket machines do not give change.
At Darlington Memorial Hospital and Bishop Auckland Hospital you need to pay before you go into hospital using the pay machines located in the car parks. At the University Hospital of North Durham please follow the signs for the public parking area accessed via a barrier.
You can park for up to two hours for free in the Captain Cook Square car park and the Ferry Road Car Park in Middlesbrough. The Civic Centre Car Park is free, but there are restrictions on opening times and time limits for parking. On-street parking is free for up to two hours on Jewel Streets.
