Is Monster Hunter: World - Iceborne free. Iceborne is a paid-for expansion that requires the MHW base game in order to play it. From the console prices, you're looking at around $30 to $40. If you don't own MHW, there's the 'Master Edition' which includes both the base game and the Iceborne expansion.
So how long is the story? Completionist: 101-150 Hours (If you want to take it all in and explore every optional task and craft every armor it will take you probably 120 hours or more to do everything within the story once).
According to the statistics at the How Long to Beat webpage on Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, players are averaging about 36.5 hours on the main questline of the expansion. To take out the main questline and all sidequests, they suggest you'll be spending around 51 hours on the game.
To get the Wyvern Ignition start the event quest "Every Hunter's Dream" and fight against a Rathalos and a Paolumu in the arena. By completing this arena quest you will be rewarded with the new material called Master Craftman's Blueprint. You need 2 of these to craft the main lvl 4 sword Wyvern Ignition "Steel".
Monster Hunter World can be played solo. Many people ask whether Monster Hunter World can be played solo. The answer is simple - yes, absolutely. What is more, if you don't have a group of friends or trustworthy companions then playing solo can be a better option.
MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD. A friendly reminder that MHW (and MH as a series at large) is not a MMO. It is, primarily, an Action-RPG with strong 4-Player COOP features, but neither requires online persistence, nor is it a continuous/rolling development but a fixed iteration release.
The wyvern tamer will then show you a list of the boss monsters you have captured, and lets you select a boss monster from the list to fight and tame in the arena. While in the arena, hunters will attempt to tame (and NOT kill) the boss monster they have captured and earn their trust, and vice versa.
The Monster Hunter: World base game is required and while Iceborne players will be able to enjoy some of the gameplay options such as the Slinger and weapon updates right away, they must have completed the main story through Hunter Rank 16 in order to access the new Iceborne story and quests.

But was it worth the wait? The PC version of Monster Hunter World is solid and, in many ways, better than the console experience, provided you have the rig to support it. It's hard, however, to see where the extra half-year of development has been spent.
Monster Hunter: World is a very good game that deserves the praise it's gotten. If you enjoy the game, fine. If it's not for you, that's fine too. There's more than enough games coming out in 2018.

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne will cost $39.99 as a stand-alone expansion. A bundle featuring the main game and the Iceborne expansion will cost $59.99.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne released on PC last night. Although the launch has been relatively smooth so far, some players ran into a major problem. If you have cloud saves enabled for Monster Hunter World, the new save will replace the existing one in the cloud as soon as you exit the game.
If you're looking to get into Monster Hunter: World on PC, the good news is that it can be played at 30fps even on older hardware. If you're used to 60fps gaming, however, plan on 1080p and lower settings, or bring some beefy hardware to the party.
This Monster Hunter is not an MMO and they have said you can play it both solo and with other people, meaning you can play the entire game offline if you want. There is no subscription.
