THE film version of ITV comedy Benidorm is officially done after the creator of the hit show quit showbiz to run a theme bar in Spain. He said in a statement on social media: "When the BBC cancelled my latest show Scarborough I had a long think about what I wanted to do next.
Canuso stars in the ITV comedy series Benidorm as flirtatious barman Mateo Castellanos and is the sitcom's longest-serving actor, appearing in all 74 episodes.
BENIDORM will see the return of the Garveys, much to the delight of fans.

In series 4, Madge suffers financial bankruptcy after Mel's posthumous business deals leave her thousands in debt, forcing her to sell her hilltop Altea mansion to Cilla Black and the Benidorm Palace, to pay off a majority of her debts.

Heap also starred in recent series of the sitcom Benidorm, in which he played the character Malcolm Barrett, the controlling and manipulative boyfriend of Pauline Maltby.

Series six of Channel 4's hit sitcom Friday Night Dinner will be the last. Ahead of the series premiere cast member Simon Bird, who plays one of the show's stars Adam, revealed: “This is probably the end of the show – we're ready to say goodbye”.
In series 2, it is implied that Jim has spent time in a secure psychiatric unit; he had been in hospital, "wasn't allowed" to eat with a knife and had an extreme reaction to red paint mistaking it to be blood. In series 3, it is revealed that he was born in a zoo.
In Friday Night Dinner, Gibby is played by the great Sally Phillips. She appears in season 6 episode 3, titled 'The Au Pair'.
The final episode saw Adam (Simon Bird) and Jonny (Tom Rosenthal) finally bring their 'females' home to meet their parents – and just to add to the potential confusion, both girls happened to be called Lucy.
Friday Night Dinner will be returning to Channel 4 tomorrow night (March 27) for a sixth series, but it will be without one very important character – Wilson the dog. The faithful companion of strange neighbour Jim (Mark Heap) tragically passed away in the series five finale.
