But there will be a normal postal service on Saturday, April 11 - but not on Easter Sunday on April 12, as is usual every week, Birmingham Live reports. Royal Mail said: "We deliver and collect mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays.
"That terrible Friday has been called Good Friday because it led to the Resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death and sin and the celebration of Easter, the very pinnacle of Christian celebrations," the Huffington Post reported.
Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover.
The date of Easter changes, because the Paschal full moon can fall on various days in different time zones. That's also why Easter and Christian holidays leading up to that day, such as Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday and Good Friday, are referred to as “moveable feasts.”
Federal banks and post offices that are located in buildings that close for Good Friday and Easter will also be closed. Good Friday is also a holiday in Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Public LifeGuy Fawkes' Day is not a public holiday. Businesses, organizations and schools are open as usual. Public transport services run to their normal timetables. Some organizations, communities and municipalities may organize public bonfires or displays of fireworks on or around November 5.

Anzac Day 2020 falls on a Saturday, which means for most Australians, there will be no extra public holiday this year. Even though Anzac Day is a national public holiday, when it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it doesn't mean all Australians get the Monday after off work.

Canberrans will have 12 public holidays in 2020, with the ACT government announcing the territory will observe two public holidays for Anzac Day in 2020. The government on Friday declared that the Monday following Anzac Day - April 27 - will be recognised as a public holiday in 2020.
Today – 16 November 2020 – is not a holiday in Queensland. In Queensland, laws pertaining to public holidays are regulated by the Holiday Act 1983. Holiday dates are published annually in the Government Gazette in November or December for the following year.
