Duxbury Beach is rocky in the winter and spring months because northeasterly winds pull the sand out. In the summer and fall, the sand comes back in with gentler wave action. However, the sand supply in the system is altered by storms, armoring up shore, and nourishment efforts.

Duxbury Beach Park only offers daily parking ($20 per car). You do not need a beach sticker to park here. All are welcome!

Meanwhile, annual 4x4 stickers are increasing as well, from $55 for a regular sticker to $70 in FY 2020, a 27 percent increase.
Salisbury Beach: Dogs are actually allowed on this beach ALL year long, but within restricted areas. While you and your fur babies can roam the entirety of Salisbury beach during the off season, from May 1st to September 15th you need to keep your dog's beach walks on the riverside of the beach only.
Dogs are allowed off-leash on Plum Island beach after October 15th and until May 15th, so you and your dog can walk right out our door onto the sand. Dogs aren't allowed in the National Wildlife Refuge (south of our hotel on Plum Island), but the public beach to the north is all yours.
