Resolution needed to print an A1 size picture
- At 300 ppi (pixels per inch) the image needs to be 7016 x 9933 pixels.
- At 150 ppi the image needs to be 3508 x 4967 pixels.

So how high of a resolution value do you need for professional quality printing? The generally accepted value is 300 pixels/inch. Printing an image at a resolution of 300 pixels/inch squeezes the pixels in close enough together to keep everything looking sharp. In fact, 300 is usually a bit more than you need.
Open the image and choose Tools > Adjust Size. In the sheet that drops down, make sure Resample image is on. Also Scale proportionally. Change the size drop down to whatever seems easier.
The A2 size print measures 42.0 x 59.4cm, 16.53 x 23.39 inches, if mounted 59.4 x 76.6cm, 23.39 x 30.16 inches. The A3 size print measures 29.7 x 42.0cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches, if mounted 40.6 x 50.8cm, 15.98 x 20 inches.

Hi-res images are at least 300 pixels per inch (ppi). This resolution makes for good print quality, and is pretty much a requirement for anything that you want hard copies of, especially to represent your brand or other important printed materials.
If you are shooting photos only for the Web, it is recommended to shoot at M smooth. Eight megapixels is generally considered more than enough for web photos (in fact it's a bit large) but still allows flexibility to crop and adjust photos as needed.
Start Paint and load the image file. In Windows 10, press the right mouse button over the image and pick Resize from the popup menu. In the Resize image page, pick Define custom dimensions to display the Resize image pane. From the Resize image pane, you can specify a new width and height for your image in pixels.
Higher resolutions mean that there more pixels per inch (PPI), resulting in more pixel information and creating a high-quality, crisp image. It's better to have more information than not enough!
