An is 3589 erw pipe is produced after welding strips or coils longitudinally. These pipes are very reliable and have enhanced chemical properties and an excellent surface finish. In this specification, pipes in the sizes of 15mm NB to 150mm NB are available. Tubes are available in sizes between 193.7mm OD to 500mm OD.
This Indian Standard (Second Revision) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by the Steel Tubes, Pipes and Fittings Sectional Committee had been approved by the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council. This standard was first published in 1968 and was revised in 1985.

Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) pipe is manufactured by cold forming a flat steel strip into a rounded tube and passing it through a series of forming rollers to obtain a longitudinal seam. The two edges are then simultaneously heated with a high frequency current and squeezed together to form a bond.
4.1 General requirements relating to the supply of the steel tubes for structural purposes shall conform to IS 1387. 5.1 The tubes shall be manufactured from steel as given in Table 3 and shall be supplied in the conditions as shown therein.
Mild Steel Pipes Dimensions – IS 1239, IS 3589, IS 4923.
METLINE also offers mild steel pipes in compliance with IS: 3589-2001 and IS: 10577-1982. All mild steel pipes and ms tubes supplied by METLINE are produced in accordance with ASTM /IS/BS specifications.

The IS 1239 MS pipe comes in different sizes ranging from ½ inches to 36 inches and the wall thickness of the pipes varies up to 40mm. The material can be heat treated by a variety of methods such as normalizing, quenching, martempering and quenched and tempered.
SAW steel pipes is short for submerged arc welding steel pipe,it can be classified into longitudinal submerged arc welding steel pipe(LSAW steel pipe) and spiral submerged arc welding steel pipe(SSAW steel pipe).

1.1 This code covers the methods of laying cen- trifugally cast (spun) ductile iron pressure pipes of diameters 80 mm and above, laid either above ground or below ground for water supply and drainage. 1.2 For the purpose of this code, ductile iron pressure pipes and the fittings shall conform to IS : 8329-1977â€.
The classification of these fittings is as per the IS 1239 Fittings Weight Chart part 1, as published in 2004. The size of these in terms of Nominal bore ranges from 1/2 inch NB to 6 inches NB, while their thickness of the outer diameter ranges from 7 inches to about 20 inches.
This Code provides for protective exterior coating with a coating of primer followed by the application of enamel, one multiple wrap of fibre glass tissue and a layullayers of impregnated fibre glass tissue andlor a coat of water resistant white wash.
SA-106 Gr. B is a plain carbon steel.
IS 1239 Steel Tube obeys certain Min. Min. Tensile Strength Mpa upto 310 and Min. Tensile Strength Mpa upto 450, Elongation Percent for size 25.4 and under 8 and 25.4 and under 10.
IS 1239 Pipe suppliers, check IS 1239 Tube Specification. There are IS 1239 YST 210 / 240 / 310 Carbon Steel Pipes & Tubes as three different grades. The minimum yield strength for YST 210 is 210MPa and the minimum tensile strength is 330MPa.
This carbon based IS 1239 YST 310 Mild Steel Pipe is proposed for application for non-perilous gas, air and steam just as the transport of water. The size range for IS 1239 Carbon Steel Pipe as indicated by this standard reaches between an ostensible bore size 6 mm to an ostensible bore size 150 mm.
According to IS 3589:2001. This Product Manual shall be used as reference material by all Regional/Branch Offices & licensees to ensure coherence of practice and transparency in operation of certification under Scheme-I of Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018 for various products.
ERW steel pipe: ERW longitudinally welded pipe is mainly used in water supply engineering, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, power industry, agricultural irrigation, and urban construction. For liquid transportation: water supply and drainage. For gas transportation: coal gas, steam, liquefied petroleum gas.
Seamless pipes are derived from solid steel that is in sheet or bar form and is formed into a solid round shape known as “billets†which are then heated and cast over a form such as a piercing rod to create a hollow tube or shell.
We are often asked about the differences between seamless and electric resistance welded (ERW) tubes. The main difference is that while seamless tubes are rolled into size as a complete piece, ERW tubes are rolled but rather welded along a longitudinal seam rather than formed as a complete piece.
Welded pipe is also called ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipe. Most common specification for welded carbon steel pipe is A53. Seamless pipe is made by a process that requires no welding. Most common specification for seamless carbon steel pipe is A106B. Stainless Steel pipe is made to spec A312.
Seamless steel tubes are formed at one time during rolling. Welded steel pipes need to be welded after rolling, generally with spiral welding and straight welding. The performance seamless tube is better, and of course the price is higher.
ERW steel pipes are manufactured by low-frequency or high-frequency resistance "resistance". They are round pipes welded from steel plates with longitudinal welds. It is used to transport oil, natural gas and other vapor-liquid objects, and can meet various requirements of high and low pressure.
