To view the full path of an individual file:

Or else, go to File, Open, and then, Recent Documents. If you had saved the file some days or months back and can remember the first letters of the file name, then you can go to Start in Windows and type those letters, then hit the search option. Most of the time, you'll find the file.
Moving and Copying Files & Folders
- Right-click the file or folder you want, and from the menu that displays click Move or Copy. The Move or Copy window opens.
- Scroll down if necessary to find the destination folder you want.
- Click anywhere in the row of the folder you want.
A file is the common storage unit in a computer, and all programs and data are "written" into a file and "read" from a file. A folder holds one or more files, and a folder can be empty until it is filled. A folder can also contain other folders, and there can be many levels of folders within folders.

In a computer file system, and primarily used in the Unix and Unix-like operating systems, the root directory is the first or top-most directory in a hierarchy. It can be likened to the trunk of a tree, as the starting point where all branches originate from.
Open File Explorer from the taskbar. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
The C:WINDOWS folder is the initial directory for the OS. However, you will not find the entirety of the files composing the OS here. You will find a good deal more in the System folders.
To show the file and folder structure, click or tap the non filled arrow. To hide the file and folder structure, click or tap the filled arrow. To display the contents of a folder, click or tap the folder icon.
There are a number of ways to display a folder in File Explorer:
- Click on a folder if it's listed in the Navigation pane.
- Click on a folder in the Address bar to display its subfolders.
- Double-click on a folder in the file and folder listing to display any subfolders.

Overview. Windows Search creates a locally stored index of files and non-file items stored on a computer. The time required for the initial creation of this index depends on the amount and type of data to be indexed, and can take up to several hours, but this is a one-time event.
To access past searches, click on the icon for Recent Searches and select the search you want to run again. Next, Windows indexes and looks in certain locations to speed up your searches, but you can change that. Click on the Advanced Options icon. Click on the option to Change Indexed Locations.
By default, the Documents option is hidden in the Windows 10 Start menu. However, you can re-enable this feature if you want to have another method of accessing your Documents.
