| What do you have? | Audio Quality | Memory required |
|---|
| 1000 songs | 128 kbps | 2 GB 680 MB |
| 10,000 songs | 128 kbps | 20 GB 680 GB |
| 100 songs | 192 kbps | 403.2 MB |
| 1000 songs | 192 kbps | 4 GB 32 Mb |
General rule on file sizes
| Flash drive size | 8 MB MP3 | 6 MB MP3 |
|---|
| 32 GB | 4,096 | 5,461 |
| 64 GB | 8,192 | 10,922 |
| 128 GB | 16,384 | 21,845 |
| 256 GB | 32,768 | 43,690 |
To begin with, 64 GB is roughly 64,000 MB. A superior quality (320 kbps) 3-minute song can be around 8–10 MB. Therefore, 64,000 / 8 = 8,000 high quality tracks which can be loaded on your MP3 device.
Only Apple recommends buying its Macs with 128GB of SSD storage, because only Apple is trying to hit a price point. Balk away, but do get that larger internal storage. If you can physically get enough cash together, go for the 256GB option as an absolute minimum. If you're not convinced, here's why you need it.
There might be a need for higher capacity storage if the device needs to be filled with business related apps, utilities and large PDF manuals that load faster outside of the cloud, but if you can charge it to the company, 128GB sounds like a good deal.
If you are someone who likes to download files and store them on your phone, you will prefer the 256 or the 512GB variant. To recommend one memory option between iPhone 12 Pro 128 vs 256, we suggest you go with 256GB in case you want to play some games and store some of your files as well.
So Apple's free 5GB of storage will hold roughly 1,667 3MB photos, and the paid 50GB tier will house about 16,000 images. Google's free 15GB will store 5,000 photos, and its 100GB paid tier will hold approximately 33,000.
Besides the difference in storage size, what is the differences between the 128gb and 512gb versions. You get 2GB more RAM, and 384GB more storage. What most people don't know is that the internal memory is better and costs more than "SD card" memory. It's faster, has higher tolerance, lasts longer, etc.
As an approximation, 4 GB of memory should hold around 1,000 to 2,000 pictures.
You can probably get about 16,000 iphone photos on 32 GB, 8,000 on 16 GB.
How Much Is One Gigabyte Of Data? Text files: Nearly 678,000 pages per gigabyte. Emails: More than 100,000 pages. Microsoft Word files: Almost 65,000 pages.
This is a lot of memory, 1 GB has 1 billion bytes, and each byte has 8 bits, so 1 GB has 8 billion bits of memory (WHOA!).
Storage Chart
| Storage Capacity1 | Photos (Compressed JPEG) |
|---|
| 8MP | 12MP |
|---|
| 16GB | 6000 | 4000 |
| 32GB | 12000 | 8000 |
| 64GB | 24000 | 16000 |
Obviously, if all of the photos are very high res, with lots of detail, each photo could be 5-7 MB in size (or more), so that could take up 3-5 GB of space.
If you use your phone for sending messages and emails, browsing the internet and taking the occasional photo then 32GB should be plenty. But if you like taking a lot of photos and videos then you should consider 64GB, but even then you may need to move some files to your computer or portable hard drive.
I figured roughly around 15 GB. It all depends upon the individual quality of the pictures.
How big should your memory card be? For most people, a 32GB card is the smallest one you should consider, with 64GB likely to be the better option. And this brings us to our first acronym – all cards with a capacity of 32GB and under fall into the SDHC camp, while cards sized at 64GB and over are classed as SDXC.
| Video Recording Time** |

| 64GB | 320 min | 480 min |
A device 64GB of internal flash memory will have around 59GB of usable space. Of that amount, 7–10GB will be reserved for the OS and system partition leaving you with ~50GB of usable space. Assuming that a typical Android app is 200–250 MB, the total amount of installable apps will be around 200.
The 64GB iPhone 11 / Pro / Max is more than enough for all of your apps, countless hours of video clips filmed and tens of thousands of photos taken. However, if you stream everything you watch and listen to, and don't play more than 5 or 6 large games, a 64GB iPhone 11 will suit your needs well.
