Stored value CharlieTickets are not accepted on the commuter rail, period. Buy individual commuter rail tickets each time you ride (one way or round trip), and then use a separate Stored Value CharlieTicket for the bus and subway.
The CharlieCard version is only valid on bus and subway. Outer Express Bus passes include travel on all Inner Express Buses, Local Buses, subway, Commuter Rail Zone 1A, and the Charlestown ferry when printed on a CharlieTicket. The CharlieCard version is only valid on bus and subway.
You can also buy your ticket from the conductor after you board. You can pay with cash or credit card, and there may be an additional $3 fee if you board the train at a station where there's a fare vending machine or a ticket window.
Sometimes it is hard to schedule in a meal between all of our other to-do action items. If you must eat on-the-go, choose menu options that are both easy to eat while in motion AND have minimal olfactory issues. In other words, no messy-smelly foods on the train, please.
It is no longer possible to buy the full range of tickets on board a train. Like all train companies*, you must buy a ticket before you board, or risk getting a penalty fare. Also, we now have more ticket vending machines at stations, and of course you can buy from one of our friendly faces at the ticket office.

Contactless payment cards can be used to travel on most National Rail services in London, as well as bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground and TfL Rail. Just touch your debit or credit card on a yellow card reader to pay for your journey, same as you would with your Oyster card. Always remember to touch in and out.
Infants Ride Free
One child under the age of two, not occupying a seat, may ride free with each fare-paying adult (age 18+). Additional infants can be booked as a “Child” and receive the 50% discount (if available) or as an “Adult” (if the Children's fare is not available).To get from Logan Airport to Boston on the T (subway), you have 2 choices: The Silver Line SL1 Bus - Board for FREE at any of Logan's terminals, and take the SL1 to any of its stops in the South Boston Waterfront neighborhood, or all the way to South Station, where you can transfer to the Red Line.
Yes, if you buy a monthly Commuter Rail Zone pass - you also get unlimited travel on the local MBTA buses, the express buses, the T (Boston's subway), and the Inner Harbor ferries. And not quite if you're getting an Interzone ticket or pass.
The 16-25 railcard allows you to get 1/3 off student train tickets throughout the UK. In order to qualify for this special pass you need to be involved in full-time education, regardless of age. The main restriction is that a minimum fare of £12 applies to rail journeys between 4:30am and 10:00am Monday to Friday.
Mark the time you plan to travel. Locate the arrival city on the left side of the train schedule. Once found, drag your finger across the row until it connects with the departure time column. Next, mark the departure time and slowly drag your finger down the column until the point meets with the arrival city.

An empty CharlieCard can be gotten free of charge at any subway station — if they have it in stock. If you're not having any luck, try Park Street or one of the other central subway stations. For convenience, the CharlieCard chip is also available as a $25 ring that can be worn.

A: In most cases, yes. PLUSBUS tickets are tickets for your train journey with a bus add-on at the start and/or the end of your journey. You will need to purchase these with your train tickets when buying train tickets online or at a ticket counter.
