They do a run/walk pace and announce before starting and stopping each run/walk. We planned to walk the entire 13.1 miles. We ended up jogging a bit with one of the pacer groups. After the months of training, a little running wasn't too hard.

runDisney has today announced that it will cancel the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort and instead offer it as a virtual event. All registered guests for the onsite event have the option of receiving a full refund for the race.
Can I get a refund on my race entry? No. Entry fees for runDisney events are non-refundable and non-transferable.
RunDisney has announced the cancellation of two in-person race events: 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and 2021 Disney Princess Half Marathon. Virtual events will be held in their place, similar to what has been offered for the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.
The races DO NOT include admission to a park. While you will run through parks, you will not be allowed to stay. If you would like to visit one or more of the parks after you finish the race, you will need to have an admission ticket.
For the January marathon weekend in Walt Disney World, the crowds have been fairly average. Some runners don't even venture to the parks after running. During the larger races like Walt Disney World Marathon or any of the half marathons, runners might still be in the park when the park opens.

For a first-timer who is looking for a great race experience to give them a positive attitude about running and having fun, yes, absolutely, runDisney is for you. Even if you're not a first timer, runDisney races are fun.
Operating all of Disney's parks and resorts cost $14.015 billion in 2019, according to the company's annual report. If the cost to operate was split evenly per park, that would amount to around $5.49 million per park per day.

Participants for Walt Disney World Half Marathon must be 14 years of age or older. Participants for the Walt Disney World 10K must be 10 years of age or older. All participants for the Walt Disney World 5K must be 5 years of age on race day to participate and must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
As part of a runDisney Virtual Race, you can register to walk, jog or run the virtual race on your own time in the location of your choosing and receive a fancy medal for your efforts once it's completed. This means you can participate in your neighborhood, at the park, or even on a treadmill at the gym.

A 10K race, which is 6.2 miles, is ideal for experienced runners who are looking for more of a challenge. It's the second most popular race after the half marathon and requires a fitness level that balances strength, energy, and endurance.
Choose from several jogging courses that range from quick jaunts to long loops. These Resort hotels feature several jogging paths, including loops around Crescent Lake and Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Take a scenic run or walk along the 1.25-mile course with views of Barefoot Bay.
