Early 19th and 20th-century versions of the story clearly show Aladdin as culturally Asian. Following the rise of Hollywood, however, European and American storytellers gradually began transforming Aladdin into a Middle Eastern tale. Movie studios played up the exotic setting and emphasized cultural stereotypes.

Disney's Aladdin is to close in the West End, it has been announced. Mary Poppins is due to return to London, opening at the Prince Edward Theatre. Aladdin will therefore close in late August 2019.
Disney+ was the saving grace of 2020, and it looks like things are not slowing down in 2021.

Who wrote the Broadway musical Aladdin?
The hit musical television series Glee is reportedly being made into a stage musical. One month after the show was rocked by the death of lead actor Cory Monteith, broadcasters have spoken about its future, including the possibility of a Broadway production.

I agree that Genie is deceitful and manipulative, but not to the point of being evil. So technically, the first wish granted was when Genie saved Aladdin's life. The 2nd being that Genie was freed. And because the wish was made while Genie was under his power, Aladdin becomes a prince.
Jafar stops him and uses the lamp to make his final wish: To turn himself into an all-powerful genie. Aladdin grabs Jafar's lamp and genie sends Jafar and Iago to the Cave of Wonders. Genie, wanting Aladdin to be happy, urges him to wish to become a prince so he can marry Jasmine.
For the most part, the ending is pretty much the same in both versions of Aladdin. The titular street rat manages to trick Jafar into turning himself into a Genie so he can then be trapped in a lamp. Rather than use his third wish for himself, Aladdin chooses to free the Genie.
The animated movie sees Genie use his freedom to travel the world. In Aladdin 2019, Genie becomes a full-on human instead of merely being given freedom; his physical change means that he loses his blue form and magic abilities, leading to him taking on a brand new life.
However, Aladdin convinces Jasmine that he truly is a prince who, much like her, only occasionally disguises himself as a commoner. Jasmine and the Sultan are finally freed, and she and Aladdin become engaged after the Sultan abolishes the law so that Jasmine can legally marry whomever she chooses.
Is the character of Aladdin based on a real person? Despite the fantastical elements of the story, scholars now think the main character may actually be based on a real person's real experiences. “Now a lot of new research being done about the man behind Aladdin,” says Razzaque.

Aladdin is probably not the most original musical, but is soooo good! I mean, you can find elements borrowed from other shows, but the result is a great production, full of incredible moments.
