Lucky for you, the Zoom recording formats – MP4 and M4A – are easy to edit in virtually any editing software.
Downloading Zoom Recordings
- Select Recordings from the menu on the left.
- From the list of recordings under your account, select the recording you wish to download.
- Downloading the Files.
- Hover over the file labeled Shared screen with speaker view.
- Select the small download icon toward the middle of the row.
New and enhanced features. Users can now choose to expire the link for a cloud recording after a set number of days or on a custom date. This setting is available for individual recordings.
Sign into the Zoom web portal as an administrator with the privilege to edit Account settings, and click Account Settings. Navigate to the Recording tab and verify that the Automatic Recordingsetting is enabled. If the setting is disabled, click the Status toggle to enable it.
Login to your Zoom account and navigate to the Recordings tab. If there are any cloud recordings in the trash, you will see a Trash link in the top right. Click this link to see any deleted cloud recordings within the past 30 days. To recover the recording, click the Recover link on the right.
According to Zoom's help center, if a host chooses to automatically or manually save transcripts to their computer, it saves any chats that you can see as a host, meaning even those private messages you sent to others will end up in the meeting transcript.
Instructions
- Sign in to the Zoom client.
- Click Meetings.
- Click the Recorded tab.
- Select the meeting you would like to view the recording for and click Open.
- Visit a cloud storage or video streaming service like Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, YouTube, or Vimeo, and upload the MP4 file.
You can also view any previous meetings that you recorded to the cloud or this computer and see the file path of the recording. Click on Meetings in the Zoom client. You will now have the option to view Upcoming or Recorded Meetings.
Zoom recordings are stored either locally on your computer, or in the Zoom cloud, if you're a licensed user. Local recording is available to both free users and paid subscribers, but is not supported on iOS or Android.
Trim recordings in Zoom
- Navigate to Recordings, and select the recording you wish to trim.
- Click Play on the recording thumbnail to open the viewer/editor.
- Click the Scissor icon at bottom right of the player.
- Drag the playhead arrows to the desired start and finish times.
Open the Zoom desktop client and click Meetings. Click the Recorded tab and select the meeting with a local recording. Note: Local recordings display the file path and options to option, play, or delete the recording.
To manually convert a recording, double-click the file named double_click_to_convert_01. zoom , and the Zoom client will convert the file to MP4 video.
For participants joining by computer or mobile device, the screen will display a recording notification. For participants who joined audio by phone, they will hear an audio prompt when they first join the meeting if it is already being recorded or at the time that recording is started.
While hosting a Zoom meeting from your Android device, tap More. Tap Record. The app will now show Recording at the top of your screen. To stop or pause the recording, tap More again.
If you close your laptop or turn off your computer while the recording is converting, it will stop the conversion process. If you change the name of the double_click_to_convert. zoom file(s) while the recorded meeting is converting, it may corrupt the file and not convert correctly.
