According to Gizmodo, the focal length of a camera can flatten out your features, which can make you look a little bit bigger. Then, of course, there's barrel distortion, which is when a camera lens can cause straight lines to appear curved. This has the effect of plumping you up, making you look, well, kind of fatter.
There can be no shadows, obstructions of the face or background. The photos must have the same size, quality, and resolution as adult photos with nothing and no one behind them other than the white background. You can make passport photos at home but there is a much greater risk of having them rejected.
There are plenty of passport apps available for both iOS and Android users, though our favorite is Passport Photo Creator (iOS, Android). The app displays an outline using your smartphone's front or rear camera, which helps you better position your face and body.

Q: Does this mean that only closed mouth smiles are acceptable for passport photos? A: No. Feel free to slightly part your lips and show a few teeth. In fact, this might make achieving a natural smile easier as a bit of space allows for lips to curve up more naturally.
When an object blocks the beam of light shining on it, a shadow appears. The Sun is the major source of light for our planet. As the Sun shines on the Earth, a shadow is cast, creating the darkness that we experience at night.
A shadow person (also known as a shadow figure, shadow being or black mass) is the perception of a patch of shadow as a living, humanoid figure, particularly as interpreted by believers in the paranormal or supernatural as the presence of a spirit or other entity.
The Shadow Ghost is a tiny little box that doesn't do much. The true magic happens in a data center near your home. When you sign up to Shadow, you don't even have to get a box. You can simply subscribe to the service without any hardware device and use the company's apps instead.

Microscopic fibers within the vitreous tend to clump and can cast tiny shadows on your retina. The shadows you see are called floaters.
