You do NOT need a camera to stream on Twitch. Nowhere in Twitch's Terms of Service does it say that a camera is required for you to stream on the platform. However, nearly all major streamers use a camera to stream on Twitch because it helps them better connect with their viewers. Most streamers do use cameras.
Go to your Twitch channel and click on your avatar. Click on “Creator Dashboard†to open a drop-down menu. Choose “Preferences†and go to Affiliate/Partner > Emotes Settings. Choose to “Upload Emotes.†There are three options to choose from, i.e., three different emote sizes.
It's true that the majority of the biggest names on Twitch use a camera to show their face while they play, reacting to the game and to chat, many viewers find it much more entertaining when they can see the person, as well as the gameplay. But, it isn't absolutely necessary, as the following streamers prove.
1. The Top Webcam for Twitch Streaming: Logitech C920. The Logitech C920 is considered by most Twitch streamers to be the best all-around cameras for streaming. It is cost-effective, very reliable, and offers the best image quality for its price range.
Enabling the in-game overlayTo enable the in-game overlay, first click on the Settings icon in the bottom right corner of the Twitch Studio app to open the Settings page. Click on In-Game Overlay on the left hand side of the screen.
Like all live-streaming platforms, Twitch's spontaneous nature makes it difficult to filter. Adult language is common, and inappropriate content can occur at any time. Most famously, 2,200 people watched the German synagogue shooting in a 35 minute Twitch video in 2019.
