How to use or assign hotkeys or shortcuts to rotate your screen
- For Windows 10 devices, you should be able to use the following rotate screen shortcut to change or flip your display.
- Hold down the CTRL and ALT keys simultaneously and then press the Up Arrow key while you continue to press the CTRL and ALT keys [3]
The Ctrl+Alt+Arrows are shortcut keys to rotate the display.
Sometimes a simple reboot will do the job. If that doesn't work, try checking if you've accidentally turned off the screen rotation option. If the screen rotation is already on try turning it off and then on again. If it's not there, try going to Settings > Display > Screen rotation.
How to rotate pages in a PDF:
- Open the PDF in Acrobat.
- Select the “Organize Pages” tool: Choose “Tools” > “Organize Pages.” Or, select “Organize Pages” from the right pane.

CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow changes to Landscape mode. CTRL + ALT + Down Arrow changes to Landscape (Flipped) mode. CTRL + ALT + Left Arrow changes to Portrait mode. CTRL + ALT + Right Arrow changes to Portrait (Flipped) mode.
How to set Chrome OS to portrait mode
- Click on the Chrome Panel, on the bottom-right corner.
- Click on the Gear icon for the device settings.
- In the “Device” section, select “Display Settings”.
- A pop-up window will appear. Select either “90” or “270” to display Chrome OS in portrait mode.
- Exit with “Done”.
Open System Preferences, holding down the Command+option keys. Hold down the Command+Option keys while clicking on the "Display" icon. A "Rotation" menu will appear on the right side of the Display preference pane. Appropriately set the rotation in the drop down menu.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display. Click the Rotate or Rotation pop-up menu, then choose a value.
Any way to rotate a web page, or video?
- click anywhere on the page.
- in the inspector, search for "body", hit enter.
- in the styles sidebar set "transform: rotate(90deg)" (or -90, 180 or -180 depending on what you want)
Just follow these steps.
- Place your cursor at the very beginning of the page that you would like to flip to landscape. (
- Select “Layout” or “Page Layout” > “Breaks” > “Next Page” to create a section.
- Select the “Page Layout” tab and select “Orientation” > “Landscape“.

Highlight any text on the page you wish to rotate. Open this dialog by clicking the small arrow at the bottom right of the Page Setup group on the Page Layout tab. On the Margins tab, select either "Portrait" or "Landscape" from the Orientation section to rotate the page.
Rotate a text box
- Go to View > Print Layout.
- Select the text box that you want to rotate or flip, and then select Format.
- Under Arrange, select Rotate. To rotate a text box to any degree, on the object, drag the rotation handle .
- Select any of the following: Rotate Right 90. Rotate Left 90. Flip Vertical. Flip Horizontal.
Select the document in which you need to rotate pages. After Acrobat uploads the file, sign in. Highlight a specific page or set of pages you need to rotate. Click the rotate clockwise or rotate counterclockwise icon in the top toolbar.
Click the Rotate tool in the Arrange group. Word provides some options for rotating your text box. Choose the Rotate Right 90 Degrees option. Your text box is rotated 90 degrees to the right, which means your text is now rotated 180 degrees.
If you have Adobe Acrobat (NOT Adobe Acrobat Reader) then make sure you go to Documents ⇨ Rotate Pages and then save it. This should work if you close and reopen. If you go to View ⇨ Rotate View and try to save the document it will not keep the rotated view when you save it.
