If your old iPhone is no longer in the picture, then you will need to return your Apple Watch to its original factory settings before you can pair it with your new iPhone. Here's how: On your Apple Watch, head to Settings > General > Reset. Next, tap Unpair Apple Watch and tap again to confirm.
So if your watch is lost or stolen, you can use Find My to help you find it again. And thanks to Activation Lock, your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can erase your Apple Watch and use it with their iPhone.
If your Apple Watch still can't connect, unpair your devices, then pair them again:
- On your Apple Watch, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
- On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.
- Pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again.
My watch will not show the six digit code. Try this; iPhone: settings>tap profile name on top>password & security> Get Verification code write this number down. This code is then entered on the watch after it asks for a code.
To hard reset an Apple Watch:
- Remove the Apple Watch from your wrist. (This is optional, but I recommend it.)
- Press and hold the Digital Crown and side button simultaneously.
- Hold until your screen is off and let go when you see an Apple logo.
The app will ask you to confirm that you wish to unpair the two devices, which will erase all content and settings from the Watch. Your iPhone, however, will make a backup of your Apple Watch before completing the unpairing process. You'll later be able to restore that backup to a new Apple Watch if you desire.
